Sounds like a working Border Collie to me.

If more bully folk actually knew how to READ a ped, and I don't mean just what it says on top ;) and if they actually RESEARCHED their lines they might actually UNDERSTAND their dog, it's background, what it's been bred FOR, etc.... It's the equivalent to reading the COVER of a book and nothing on the inside but claiming to know what the books all about!

Yeah, but most people I encounter have no clue what a working border collie looks like. The lady across the street from me (breeds and shows Shiba Inus) flat out said he wasn't a purebred because his papers weren't from the AKC *bangs head*

Yeah, most people don't know what a working APBT looks like either... imo most people don't know a whole lot.

  5. Im not a bully basher but what the real APBT people are saying bottom line they are two diffrent dogs and thats that. If an ambully gets loose and attacks a person or a persons pet the first thing the media is gonna call it is a APBT instead of a bully. APBT have a bad rap already i feel like the bully people should accept it or start breeding REAL APBT.:sign0087:

    Ask and ye shall recieve...

These are about a year and a half old. He's in better shape now, but he thinks cameras steal his soul so it's hard to get decent photos. Next time I have a friend over, I'll try to get some good side standing shots that show him off better.

Yeah, he's a pretty awesome dog. I love him. Somebody gave him up at 5 months because he "ran around too much." Their loss is my gain. On his sire's side the dogs are mostly Scottish/English imports with a couple herding grandchampions.

But he is definitely not the dog for the average owner. He is EXTREMELY high drive and intense with everything he does, which coupled with the fact that he's a "harder" dog than the average Border Collie, and there's been a few times when he's tested me pretty good. But he knows his place now.

He loves to work. I wish I could get out on sheep with him more (money restrictions). He starts shaking with excitement as soon as he sees them. If he hears sheep on tv, he'll run around the house trying to find them until I change the channel. Totally genetic with him. He knew what to do first time on sheep at 6 months, then it was just a matter of actually teaching him the commands to get him to put them where they actually need to be.

Honestly, the most proud I ever was of him was the first time he stood up to a really tough ram. They used to intimidate him and he'd back down, then one day it just clicked and he was like, "wait, they're still sheep" and he held his ground while the ram postured at him and threatened him, then he just took off and put the ram back with the rest of the sheep. I was like, "aww...my boy's all grown up and tough now."

I'm a big dork and taught myself to felt wool and use an old style spinning wheel so you shear them and I'll knit you mittens. :D I'm not wearing the stupid Little Bo Peep outfit if I come visit though!

I do wish Bullies would stop getting registered as APBT's....they aren't APBT's and never will be. And there is nothing wrong with that. Be proud you have an AmBully, and try to brush of the people that are "bully haters". They are an AMAZING breed, when in the hands of someone who truely loves them for who they are. I myself like APBT's, but wouldnt trade my Bully for the best gamebred APBT in the world. I just simply prefer the thicker look of a well proportioned Bully...over the leaner, smaller look of an APBT. Just me though....

My herding trainer uses hair sheep. They don't have to be sheared, because they shed. Hence why that one sheep looks so patchy. He just raises them for meat, but they do live pretty happy little sheep lives until they get sent off to slaughter.
