So, my dog's 7th gen grandsire on his dam's side is midnight cowboy. I actually got a chance to meet the guy who owned cowboy who oddly enough lives in the same small town as i do, Belleview, MO. I had a long talk to him about everything involving pitbulls and it was awesome. He said mr. panckaes (my dog) was beautiful, but huge. About 70lbs at 10 months, so he told me about conditioning and what not. It was wierd when he started giving me advice for fighting because i have no interest in it at all, and i told him. So then he gave me some tips on how to not make him aggressive. One funny thing that happened was when the recent dogfighting bust in STL came up (where over 400 dogs were seized) he said, " i can't believe how they could have so many dogs, i was real into it there for awhile and i only had about 80." I just thouhg it was funny how like 80 dogs was no big deal. When we were talking about dogfights i brough how mr. pancakes other 7th gen grandsire jeep and 3 hour 45 minute match he won, and Baker said that really doesn't mean much because most like one of the dogs had a "defensive style" so there was probably just a lot of laying around. He never used the term gameness, only "condtioned." I don't it was an interesting thing, especially that he is my neighbor in the middle of nowhere. Also, mods feel free to move this if it belongs somewhere else.

Baker Davis is still alive ? I did not know that but I tell you what....if you want to know anything about bulldogs you better go back to his house and take a listen. Those old timer are a dieing breed and will soon be gone. Davis owned and matched some of the best dogs to ever look through a collar!

If he was that fourth comming I would just walk over and tell him you would like to learn a few things, if he didn't mind, and had the time. He may be like my grandfather and just enjoy some good conversation and talk about the old days.
