I know someone will know this, probably Gala. lol. This cute guy lived on my porch for a few nights. What kind of Spider is he?

He is a cute little spider. I have no clue what he is but Gal will surely know.

Actually, I was going to go with barn spider ;)

During the day, he'd curl up in like a ball on the top of the porch, it was cute. :)

They'll pick a spot to curl up and hang out at while the predators are out, then when the sun sets, they'll come out and build the most amazing webs!

Yeah, he did build a very impressive web. I wanted it to stay there for a long time, but then the next night I went to see him again, and it was gone. I think Stan destroyed it (the web, not spider). I liked my spider. lol.

I am the same way CHJ. We have some huge wolf spiders here. I will have to get some pictures posted of the one I saw on my tiki torch. Nate just thinks I am silly because I like them so much.

See, I've heard people call them barn, garden, orbed and common spiders.. What's the difference?

I don't keep up with names so much... I love them all

I like spiders too, so long as they're not venomous or try to eat you! Black widows, brown recluse & camel spiders are OFF my list of spiders to like (although they say the camel spider is not a true spider).

Here is a pic of a creepy crawly & found when I was fixing the bed (our bed is right near a poorly insulated window). What kind of spider is he? I put my hand in the pic for size reference:

As a side note, he did not get killed. I herded him into a glass & put him back outside!

    Blessings ...

Almost ALL spiders are venomous ;) Just varying levels... He looks like some kind of huntsman, but I could be very wrong - let's ask Gala... We should have a thread of unknown spiders for Gala to tell us what they are

 you can't imagine how long it took me to take a peek - I guess, it's my feeble attempt to deal with my arachnophobia ....

All true spiders are, indeed, venomous. Most are just not medically significant to humans. "camel spiders" and daddy long legs aren't spiders, though they are arachnids. Daddy long legs have the reputation as being the most venomous spider in the world, but the fangs not being big enough to pierce human skin. In fact, they aren't spiders at all, aren't venomous, and feed on decaying plant matter. YAY for useless facts! :D
Wolf spiders, huntsmen, fishing, and nursery spiders are all very closely related and can be difficult to tell apart.

There are already a bunch of "Let's ask Gal!" threads, and I LOVE them! Talking about creepies is one of my favorite things in the world.
