Also many here in UK are convinced they own pure APBT,you like myself have probarly bumped into them and they clearly have a plastic pit or dog of type.
    Thanks

they are the same dogs, but different lines thats all, the Amstaff was bred from 2 pitbulls and nothing else has gone into it's breeding, so of course it's a pitbull and a pitbull is an amstaff........one and the same
the AKC opened it's books to pitbull's only as far back as the early 1970's to get a better gene pool..............this prooves they are the same breed.

The pitbull is a working dog and you can consider the Amstaff the show line of the same breed.........as with most kennel clubs they are just about winning show's and conforming to a standard, but this doesn't make a good dog...........a good dog does what it was bred to do......no matter what it looks like............there are still however amstaff's every bit as good as pitbulls.

30 years go by and people call the dog a new breed, this is just crap... when no other breed of dog was ever introduced into the breeding programme, you'll find the kennel club just want to hide behind the Amstaff labelto aviod all the bad wrap.
