Any Blood/Short Tail Python Fans/Keepers out there?

Discussion in 'Reptiles & Amphibians' started by WorkingBullTerrier, Jun 21, 2012.

  1. I'm the founder of an AWESOME blood/short tail forum, devoted exclusively to the snakes. If anyone would like to go have a look feel free to PM me for the info. I don't want to post the link and be dis-respectful to another forum (even though they are unrelated) :)

Here's a few more randoms of just a few of our extensive collection :D

  4. Thank you. Aside from my dogs, these guys are my close runner up passion!

Well, it greatley varies. These guys are divided into 3 species. Breits (Borneo Short Tail Python), Brongs (Red Blood Python) and Curtus' (Sumatran Short Tail Python aka Black Bloods). Each of the species has various morphs, and hey tend to be graded by appearance, hence the price variability. With exception of the Caramel Albino morph, the black bloods tend to be the cheapest of the 3 species. You can find farm bred specimens on Kingsnake and Fauna anywhere from $75 and up, but if you want a healthy well bred specimen, it's better to go through the reputable private keepers/breeders that have been doing this for years.

Man, you're animals are absolutely stunning! Bloods are gorgeous (and those black bloods are drop dead gorgeous), they're on my list of considered animals for the future. But that'll be a long way down the road. And I have a few higher up on my list, like Taiwan Beauty Ratsnakes

  6. Thank you!!! I admire alot of other species of snakes as well, but these guys are all I have interest in keeping/breeding. One day I'd like to have a pair of Pied Ball Pythons just as a fun pet project, but that's about it.

A pied BP is at the very tippy-top of my "Want!" list right now. Mostly because I am obsessed with all things pied.
