Not defending anything, no need for me to. Just sharing what I have seen. Nobody's begging for your approval, so lose the attitude. It's not cute.

Defensive much? Its simply about build and those dogs aren't built to move. You show me health testing certifying the joints, heart and eyes and I may think that this kennel isn't a typical BYB. Until then it is just another POS BYB peddeling a shitty designer breed.

BWAHAHAHAHA! I can just see those poor mutts trying to do anything physical, like jumping on a couch, and having a heart attack.

I'd rather have a Boston or a Frenchie than one of those turds.

They'd probably do as well in any sport as a freaking pug.

On a ligther note I came across a kennel that breeds weight pulling boston terriers. Couple of their dogs are UKC WPCHs..

I dont own one, and dont plan to, so need to try to sway me, ladies...........build and ability are not always one in the same, though. I remember hearing about how shitty Johnson type AB's were and still see how they get bashed, but I try to get to at least 5 working events a year and damn are people wrong about those dogs......out there kickin ass and takin names in protection events.

I think for any breed form follows function.

K wait a minute, I am missing something. Didn't all breeds start out somewhere. I mean OEB, (my dog) has only been bred since the 70's, and his breed is considered a pure bred, although to begin with they sure weren't. I mean Leavitt used half English Bulldog, and the other half Bullmastiff, Pit Bull, and American Bulldog. That wasn't a pure bred, but they are now. Is it possible that Shorty Bully breeders are doing the same thing, starting a foundation stock first. Just asking a question, please don't get on me.

I love French Bulldogs, and I love Boston Terriers.

I know nothing about Shorty Bulls, so, I have no comment on them. :)

Sure, they all start somewhere. When a breed has a standard and breeds true to that standard they can be considered legit. But another important part of breed creation is health and purpose.

These "shorty bulls" don't have any stated purpose and I don't see any mention of health testing. So, its a designer breed mutt being peddled by a BYB til I am proven wrong.

If someone wants a smallish dog with breathing problems there are other breeds already in existence to choose from.

but surely we must all agree that many breeds are being bred for looks and have no "real" purpose anymore. I know many retrievers who don't retrieve, and many shepherds that don't herd flocks. Most breeds, while bred to breed standards, are not being "used" in the way they were originally intended. APBT aren't being bred for pit fighting anymore, so does that make it so they aren't a legitimate breed anymore. A lot of "pit bull" breeds are pets only. I agree that breeding designer dogs is irresponsible but most toy breeds are being bred as designer pocket dogs now a days.
