Make your own break stick instructions

Just make sure not to use it for any breed besides APBT.

Yeah I keep mine tucked into my sweater where it's accessible, but not visible.
Believe it or not, it's also considered a weapon.

I guess I have been lucky. You are all correct about understanding the breed. However, my Pit, Wilbur, won't even bite when he is attacked, which has happened. Either he is weird or not all Pits are aggressive. Wilbur has been attacked 3 times by chijuajuas and the chijuajuas are all fine. He was just scared. I think he is weird, but it is a good weird.

The Dog Whisperer has done incalculable damage to dogs. I strongly dislike him. He is such an arrogant jerk. How does he think they train the best trained dogs in the world, service dogs whose owners can't be dominate because they are confined to a wheel chair or otherwise incapacitated?

Not all APBTs will be dog aggressive, but it is very common, and can surface at anytime. So, one should always be prepared in case one does become Dog aggressive. :)

  10. as long as you have control of your dog and properly leashed you should have no probs with a law suit. if the other person is irresponsible and not in control of their dog thats their own fault.

    proper training

with proper training you wont need a break stick.
dont allow your dogs in the kitchen with food out.
thats just asking for trouble train them to stay out and train them to eat from only your hand or there bowl i had two dogs poisend when a neighbor threw kibble over the fence with anitfreeze mixed in. and you could learn alot from the dog whisperer when two dogs fight they get there power from there back legs so you isolate the back legs they will let go. and last i checked bullys arnt snakes they arnt coming back around to bite you lol

 really? If a dog attacks your dog and he fights back, which 99% of the time he will, youll need a break stick. And pulling a dog by its back legs when its fighting is going to make it on hell of a lot worse and not accomplish much.

If the Dog Whisperer would have had a break stick in one of his episodes, he would have ended the fight a lot quicker, and that one dog would not have needed 14 stitches.

It's rather apparent from your posts that you know a whole lot less than you think about these dogs, or dogs at all for that matter.
If Caesar Millan is your source of dog-relater knowledge, I strongly suggest that you find another.

First of all, instinct overrides training without a doubt. Clearly with his advice on breaking up a fight, even the great "dog-whisperer" himself must be aware of this. A break-stick is proven to be the best way to break up a fight between fighting breeds, specifically Pit Bulls. Grabbing a dog by the back legs to stop a fight is one of the worst things that you can do. :no2: Both for you and the dogs involved. If you think a dog, an APBT nonetheless, isn't capable of turning around to bite you then you've got a lot to learn my friend.

It is that kind of "all how you raise them" mentality owners have about these dogs that leads to tragedies every day.
It's unfortunate and unfair (to the dogs) that so many people turn down helpful advice and have to learn the hard way. :sadsigh:
