A friend of mine recently got a Bronze Wing Pionus, and the more birds i meet the more i wonder why i never gave parrot types a real chance as a pet.. I want my first "larger bird" to be a Bronze Wing Pionus, but i do not see that happening for a few years just because of the amount of money and i would like to make sure i had time for a more intelligent bird... I AM considering possibly getting two Cockatiels in a few months (not now as i am redoing some rooms in my home) but we will see what the future brings.. ANYWAY here are some GORGEOUS birds

They're beautiful! I love birds, but a lot of the parrot types are too loud and obnoxious for me. My son has a gulf wing cockatoo that I want to kill! He screams so loud and one minute he's being nice, the next he's biting you! I love cockatiels, I had two, one lived to be 19 yrs the other was over 20. That's longer than usual, I really think you'd like them.

They are beautiful. That macaw is outstanding!!

I miss my African Grey. What a vocabulary that bird had.

I love parrots! They are so beautiful and smart. They, along with corvids, are some of the smartest little critters :)

as for cockatiels, I absolutely adore my boy. I've had him for 7 years now. While not the best talker, he loves to chirp and whistle, and get head scratches.

A couple who lived one street over from us had two Macaws. In the summer you could hear them yelling shut up to one another! I think they heard that a lot from there owners.
