Today we brought home our 11 week old female APBT, Ruby. She is the sweetest little thing. Just looking for some suggestions for intros with our 9 year old neutered male APBT, Lemmy.

Ruby is our 3rd bull breed dog so we are not inexperienced owners. We have never, however had 2 bull breeds at the same time. Our first bull breed, Murphy (a Scott AB) was raised with our lab mix, Molly. When Murphy suddenly developed cancer and had to be euthanized at at 6 we got Lemmy as an 8 week old pup. Lemmy got along wonderfully with Molly and they were together for almost 9 years until her passing at 14 last summer. While Molly was a lab mix, she was a very dominant female and played rough. I can count on my hand the times they got into it in those years. It was always over resources and always started by Molly. She had some resource guarding issues that pre dated our owning her.

I want this relationship to get off on the right foot. I know how on top of our game we have to be having 2 APBT. We can't afford even 1 scrap. Lemmy was a little intense when we introduced them. He had been on a long walk before. We introduced them outside and inside really haven't had them interact. He starts off sniffing her and she will start playing with him. He immediately wants to get her under him and hump her. I am able to call him off with a voice command. Is this concerning? He has been around puppies several times before and has spent a week living with a puppy before. I don't remember him being this wanting to dominate. Any suggestions for a successful into are appreciated. I know the possibilities of having a multi bull breed house. I just want to make sure we have a harmonious hone.
