Default The Graphic Novel that takes a bite out of BSL

I'd like to introduce a project many of you will have an interest in. Along with illustrator Scott Bruns, I have written and developed Demo, the Story of a Junkyard dog, a graphic novel for readers young and old about a misunderstood junkyard dog and his dramatic journey for acceptance in an unfriendly world. As a metaphor for the current struggles of the Pit Bull Terrier in society today, the project counters the extremes of breed bias by clearly demonstrating that one can never judge an animal's character solely based on appearances. By raising awareness while entertaining, Demo, the Story of a Junkyard Dog hopes to establish a more balanced impression of the Pit Bull Terrier in reader's minds. The book is currently available excusively from our website; http://www.demo-dog.com.

At present time we are looking for like-minded individuals to partner with in order to increase the project's exposure. We believe in the quality and importance of Demo's message but without assistance from fellow members of the responsible pet-owner community, Demo's message may never reach the audience it deserves. If you'd like to cross link to the book's website, we'd love to post your site in our links section. Feel free to ask.

When I get my website up, there is no doubt I will have a link to your site on it.

At the rate we're going, I'm going to need to order another book, because the Gremlin is reading it to death. She has it almost memorized.

You'll get a laugh out of this. She went with her Dad over to his best, Frank's house. Frank has a daughter, Sarah that is a few months younger than the Gremlin and they love playing together.

Well, Gremlin brought her Demo book and a stuffed dog that looked like Demo with his little leash and collar. Their Grandma read Gremlin, Sarah, and Kate, the baby the book twice. Then the kids started fighting over the book, so Frank wrote down the web address so they could order one for Sarah.

And now I have to remember where the hell I found that little stuffed puppy because Sarah and her sister Kate want one to go with the book.

Hmmmm, a stuffed puppy to match the book....where have I heard that before?

I, too, have the book, and it's auto and pawtographed by Jon and Demo.

Ours is auto and pawtographed too. I should hurry up and get a new one so I can put this one away for safe keeping.

If you only knew how many stuffed dogs to match books we have, you'd be sick. You would be discusted to know how much time I've spent hunting down stuffed dogs to match books because Gremlin loves having a stuffie with her book.

We literally have a kennel full of stuffed dogs. And ALL of them have collars or harnesses. She doesn't bring her stuffed dogs out with out a collar and leash.

Jon - your book needs a stuffie or three to go with it and a tank. Because Gremlin is using a Abrams M1 tank toy as the destruction machine.

I thought this was extra cool!

Hoyden, how long did it take to get yours when you ordered it?

I pre-ordered mine to make sure Gremlin would get it in time to take to Kindergarten to read with her class and Birdie, so I'm not sure how long his lead time is.

Hummmmm k. Sounds like I will be ordering a couple soon. This book might be a good thing to include somehow (I havent figured that part out yet) with our bite prevention in the elementary schools in the fall.
