Officials say a dog was stolen from an animal shelter in Mandan. Sue Buchholz is the manager of the Central Dakota Humane Society and says "Ruby" is a female American Staffordshire Terrier. She is tan and has short hair. Buchholz says a young couple was interested in adopting Ruby on Friday. The couple had issues, however, with the shelter`s adoption fee and spaying policy.

Buchholz says a man came and asked to see Ruby about an hour later, took her for a walk and left with her. Buchholz says shelter workers are very worried and says shelter workers treat animals there like their own pets. She says the shelter's board may consider changes to its animal viewing policies now.
