Question What were you doing when you went into labor?

Yes, yes.... anyone who knows me well knows how impatient I am. I do NOT like the waiting game one bit.

So, March 3rd, this coming Monday, is my due date... and I am DONE. I selfishly want my body back, I want to meet my son, I want to stop wondering with every contraction "Is this it?" and so on and so forth.

So, for the women out there that have had children..... what were you doing when you went into labor?

I haven't had any kids, but I was sleeping at my sister's house when her water broke. We were all sleeping, and then apparently she woke up my bro in-law and said, "Either I peed the bed or my water broke." He quickly woke me up to tell me and we (my bro in-law and I) were running around getting ready. While my sister went into the shower, she took her time, shaved her legs, and slowly got ready, while her hubby and I were nut cases. lol.

With my 9 yr. old Lorenzo I was walking around in the mall when I started feeling the contractions, that was 14 hours of labor, with my soon-to-be 7 yrs. old on August 22nd (Marcus), I was actually on my way to the hospital for a check-up, that was 9 hrs. and w/ my so-to-be 2 yr. old on June 28th (Angelina) well that was like forever cause the yr. she was born 2006 that day was the last day of school & my boys had half a day, I was already getting contractions when they left in the morning, so I had to wait for them to get home, my husband does insallations & delivery all over the place, we live in Brooklyn, NY that day he was in the Hamptons doing an insallation....soooo I called my girlfriend that was prego also & as soon as the boys got home I left the boys w/ my neighbor called my dad at work to get them when he got out of work, my girlfriend came & got me, by the time I got to the hospital I was 5 centimeters dilated, I told my Dr. to not even think about sending me back home casue I was gonna bitch up a storm, so since he knows so well, he admitted me

I had vaginal delivery w/ all 3 & my water never broke, which sucked for me cause they had to break it...I hate that! and yes, my husband made it to the hospital & it felt like she knew cause as soon as I knew he was there I had to push, with her it was b/w 10-11 hrs. of labor, but w/ the epidural I didn't feel a thing til it was time to push. But I'm done I got my girl last & that who we were waiting for & she beautiful...but also a bratty Daddy's little girl...LOL!

I've had 4 kids...but only went into labor with 2 of them.....
Both times I was asleep, and started going into labor at 2-3AM....
I had C-Sections with all 4.

Simple, my labor was induced, and I did 3 things......
I watched TV
I watched the monitors for my contractions to see how bad they were
I slept......
Then I was dope on all kinds of pain meds.....didnt feel a thing....had c-section as well, after having been in active through the day and night!
Ya, it aint nothin....got to catch up on my tv programs and learn a little about the fetal monitors they me on...or him rather!

With Daemon, is was in bed and started to feel like I was getting my period. I think it was six on the morning or something...

With Raven, I started to loose my mucous plug so knew she was coming. We unfortunatley had to go all the way into Vancouver to have her, so we drove all the way in, and they said I wasn't ready so to come back. I insisted she was coming but nope... they sent me home, we watched a movie, and the second I got into bed, my water broke so I got to have a lovely ride BACK to the hospital in very active labour. Bastards. I was NOT impressed. It was much nicer being at home for Daemon's birth instead of in a car with zero shocks and James driving like a crazy man across a few cities to get to the Woman's Hospital.

I was having labor pains and contractions with Kaelen for 2 weeks and I finally made them induce me. Andrea, on the other hand, was super quick and fairly painless. I slept through most of my labor, no drugs.

Both of mine were initially induced at home, via sex. There is a hormone in semen that will cause the cervix to begin to soften and dilate. To be the most effective, it needs to stay on the cervix for 30 minutes.

Didn't mean to gross anyone out...trying to present this from a clinical view, but I understand the impatience part. I hated the last few weeks of pregnancy.

Totally not gross, thank you.

We actually have been *ahem* doing just that almost every nite.... and Jake laughs that im "using him" to get this baby here. I smile and tell him I am, but that he better not complain because after the baby is here he ain't getting any for a while.

I hate, hate, hate waiting. They say with your second that it is supposed to go faster (labor wise) and I have been having contractions every day for weeks now and im about to shoot someone.

I was two days past my due date. I woke up at 6am with contractions. 18hrs and 3 pushes later......Blaize! Joey and I had done *ahem* the night before...LOL! My water never broke though. When I got to the hospital I was only 2cm, so they made me waddle around for 2 hrs to help move along....terrible. It was like waddle, waddle, waddle, oooohhhh(contraction), waddle, waddle, waddle, oooooh, and so on. LOL
