This poor pit needs a loving home where he knows he will be taking care of ..Pits deserve the same love and respect as you and I......This pit has been giving a death sentence based on his breed!!!
This dog is desperate and at the Sioux City shelter. He's not eating or moving or anything. His family had to give him up He's dying of a broken heart.



The staff showed me poor Max. He has been there a very long time...pitbull mix. They said he is so sweet...they really want him to get adopted. He is a house dog , housebroken, loving and affectionate, but does not like cats or small furry things. He loves kids but can knock down the little ones, so they said he would be better off with older kids. the glowing information from the previous owner and staff, it sounds like "we" should try and help him out.
Max was taken from his home because of Breed Specific Legislation, Please take a moment to read the owners words below...
Max is a wonderful, loving, affectionate dog. He

He does not like cats, agressive dogs, possum, and squirrels
He has only been fed dog food, purina kibbles and chunks
You can keep food in his bowl, he will eat in moderation

Hax has never been kept outside. He has never had an accidnet in our home (the longest he had to hold it was 15 hours-we had an emergency and was unable to get to him)
Take him out in the morning if you work and maybe once or twice after that (when you get home). He loves childeren buy you will have to watch him because he can knock down small kids. We never was able to break him from jumping up when he greets someone. He is not a barker, only at other animals.
Max is located at the Siouxland Humane Society in Sioux City, IA.
Max is a 4 year old, neutered pit bull. He was surrendered to the Humane Society because of city ordinances.This dog is such a sweetheart!! !! Max is housebroken and has always been an inside dog. He is leash trained and knows approximately 10 commands...very smart. He is very loving and affectionate. His previous owners were heartbroken to give him up.
He has been at the shelter since Dec.4th and is beginning to go downhill. He does not get up to greet the staff anymore...he is VERY depressed. The H.S. staff says wonderful things about this dog's personality. I believe this is the only reason he has not been euthanized.. .yet. However, with his emotional decline, euthanasia is imminent.
We need to find a rescue situation or home for this wonderful dog IMMEDIATELY! !! Please contact me for any additional information you may need!
