I'm a first time PB owner and poster to this chat. Luda (our PB) is 6 mos and has just started to get some small red blotches like CYrus on her "underside". Although I haven't tried it yet, I understand you can use diaper rash lotion. Does anyone have any opinions on that? Luda also seems to have an allergy that makes her eyes red and they drain constantly. We've tried steriods on her eyes, that was only a temp fix. We're now waiting for a antihistamine presecription from the vet. Has anyone had any experiences with this issue?

Kim I moved your question and made it your own post. Its best to start a new post if you have a question such as this so it can be answered instead of it blending in with the OP's post.

better than treating the symptoms...have tried to figure out the cause of the rashes/allergies? What do you feed? (foods high in corn content are notorious for causing allergies) What do you use for bedding? it could be as simple as fixing these two things, or require more. I have seen though time and again once the food problem is solved...allergies seem to diasppear as well. I've also seen a dog that was allergic to red cedar bedding, but the owner kept it in his dog house, but kept treating with benadryl. Once the red cedar went away...so did the problem. Just a few thoughts to get the ball rolling... Last edited by screamin'eagle; 02-14-2008 at 04:55 PM..

Have you recently changed anything, diet, bedding, detergent, cleaners, fertilizers? I have a boston terrier that is sensitive to fresh cut grass that causes redness on his stomach, if this occurs I use baby wipes with aloe to wipe him down and it help with the irritation, it does a really good job. The same dog had a bad reaction on his stomach from using freebreeze liquid fabric softner when I washed the dogs bedding (bounce sheets cause no problems). On the company website it says it is safe and recommended for pets but I found a lot of people reporting the same rash type irritations like my dog had. I immediately washed the bedding again and cleaned his stomach with the baby wipes and it cleared up quickly.
