| It's hard to say what you should do at this point. More information surrounding this event would be helpful. Dogs don't usually snap at someone unless there was a reason. Warning signs are ALWAYS given! How old is she? Was she asleep? Did he surprise her? Where did you son try to touch her? What was his position? Was she laying down at your husbands feet? On the furniture? In her crate? Was she guarding food, toy or other resource? What role has your son played in the care and training? How old is he? Dogs can get more testy when they are pregnant or in season. I hope you will have her fixed should you keep her. My guess is she doesn't see your son as a pack leader. (ALL FAMILY MEMBERS NEED TO BE SEEN AS PACK LEADERS.) She probably wasn't feeling well and your son missed the signs. Nevertheless; this breed of dog is not supposed to show aggression toward humans. However, ALL dogs will test their status in pack "hiarchey" in the begining and from time to time should an owner become lax in handling. Advice not withstanding and being new to the breed; My suggestion would be: Reduce the dog population in your home to one dog until you have a couple of years experience the the APBT. __________________ To be successful in any endeavor, you must believe success is possible! Once you've had her spayed, if her behavior doesn't change, I would have her evaluated by a behaviorist. In the meantime, I would keep her separated from your children. |

Why is she pregnant? You just got her and she was already pregnant? The world does NOT need more Pit Bulls and the most homane thing you can do is do the spay/abort and focus on her issues at hand. |
