Cleo is a bright and affectionate bully who loves to play ball, is sharp as a whip and likes to learn...a great candidate for agility. She already knows "sit," "stay" and "wait" and is a master at catching cookies mid-air. She's very active with loads of energy yet can settle nicely in her crate.

We think she may have been traumatized in her past life by shock collar use, or maybe teased or tormented while confined, perhaps by children since she is afraid and anxious around them. For this reason, Cleo needs to go to a home without kids. On leash, she's friendly to other dogs but she is sometimes fearfully reactive to new things so we think she'd be best as the only animal in a quiet and experienced home. Cleo is from the Humane Society of New York. We believe she is a mini, as she is much smaller than the standard bull terrier. Cleo was tied to the front door of the shelter two days before Christmas with a note that she was a good dog. The shelter has had no issues with her in their evaluations. No cats for this girl, though.

We are going to build her confidence with positive reinforcement, since Cleo is fearful of strangers. For this reason, we will not place her in an environment with children. She needs a patient home willing to take baby steps to help her work through her anxieties. She was also unsure of other dogs at the shelter, We'll be updating the website with her progress in her 30-day foster care evaluation. If you're looking for a smaller bully, she's the one for you.
