Default After much research...I made Diesels Food Choices

Been reading/comparing/pricing(not that important) and finally decided on Merrick Wilderness Blend (canned) and Innova EVO (dry). I would like to go all raw but it is hard to do sometimes (I will still give raw when able). Thanx to all the information from the members here, I feel pretty good about these two choices.

SideNote: After I get Diesel on this diet I am going to "try" to convince my Vet to get his female Lab off Science Diet. She just went thru an Auto-Immune Type Disease and has definitely become very lethargic (only 4 1/2 years old). I think that her diet has a lot to do with her slow to nill recovery to her former state of activity. Those poor vets (and he is a bright guy) swear by Science Diet (I know they make a good commission on the sale).

EVO has too much calcium/phosphorus for a growing puppy..... do the regular Innova instead for now..

They need to add more classes on nutrition to the curriculum to properly educate new Vets.

I agree with both.....EVO is way too high in protien for a puppy....and I would recommend usign the same brand kibble and canned (I am not too high on canned food though) or as one said Regular Innova.....but I would still feed the same brand...JMO

Well I just ordered the Merrick Dry to go along with the Merrick Canned. I think I will give the Innova EVO to my Vet and let him see the difference/read the ingredients/feed to his girl.

Well Diesel loves the Merrick (ordered online...shipping was kinda high) Dry mixed with Canned. I now found a place just outside San Antonio that carries both...I will have to price check. My cat is nosing around Diesel Dish too!

Do you have to order these types of food off of the internet? or can you purchase them at pet stores or feed/tack stores?

You can order them online but the shipping will kill ya'. I found a source at a feed/tack store...I would look there first. Diesel loves the Dry Merrick...even more than the canned food.

When Argo went off her food for 2 weeks,(she's on Inova evo and some caned evo) she ate Merricks grammy pot pie, apparently it is very popular, cause I would have to keep checking my store that carries it, and I still have a can of turducken in the cabinet, (just in case she does it too me again.. ) It is really good looking in the can, looks like pot pie filling except for the apple chunks in it, those 2 are the only ones they had with no grains in it at all for Argo. She's back on EVo..
I agree...Good choice
