Default in search of an Amstaff...

Hello all, Miakoda sent me here thinking you all could help me out, and it is looking a lot more promising then some other places!!

I am need of some help... I am looking for an Amstaff breeder, I have been looking but have found only a bunch of fat, HUGE headed beasts... I want something athletic, super strong temperment and nerves...

I have to stay away from APBT because I don't want to pay the $1000 a year registration fee to own one where I live.. For some reason It only applies to "pit bulls" but not to Amstaffs.

Do you guys know of any breeders that are breeding these dogs for WORK?

First off, .

Second, you came to the right place.

Third, you MUST post pictures of your dog in a thread. We LOVE smooshy-faced AB's here!

(EDIT: just wanted to clarify that in "smooshy faced" I didn't mean like the fat slobbery EB. )

Welcome, and I'd love pics of a smooshy faced EBs as well.

I am not a breeder expert, but have heard of Matrix Kennels - but they are in the U.S., and I have not the foggiest idea what their policies as to shipping out of the country are.

Hi and welcome!

Are you definitely set on an AmStaff or would you also be willing to look at APBTs?

Have you looked at White Rock Kennels? They are in Texas many dogs in their line having working titles conformation titles and are health tested

There is also a site called AmStaff network where you can look at tons of sites for breeders

I really like the looks of some of the overseas kennel but have not dealt with them; it would be a lot of work bringing a dog over if you are willing to do something like that

Have you looked at retrostaffs or esoteric amstaff's...they both produce some beautiful dogs...and I really like the x-pert line, there is a breeder in the Buffalo, NY area linebreeding x-pert dogs...I think she calls her kenner x-pertise

Nevada Kennels breeds APBT and Am Staffs. Some are dual registered AKC as Am Staffs and UKC as Pit Bulls, I don't know if that helps any. She has titled her dogs also.

I knew a really good one, but her page is gone now...
I know a few kennels, but don't have any experience with them, so not sure if they are good or bad. Just a heads up...
I'm pm them to you so I don't break any forum rules.

Check out
http://www.majorleagueamstafs.com/

There are several dogs/bitches who are great working prospects, at least one bitch is already trained for agility.

My Roly is a relative and has the best, rock-solid temperment, and loves to work. Roly refuses to retrieve ANYTHING, but I'm told he is an exception, the rest of the family likes to retrieve. Roly loves agility, obedience, draft, . . . (everything but retrieving).
