Default BSLWorkshop- Miami Dade today...

Thanks Joe....
The meeting can be read from here

there was overwhelming support of the
Chapter 5 rewrite. Desite a lot of really good fighting and putting
this off the shaved-off measures were passed this am. We were never
able to touch article 17 which is the BSL banning PIT BULLS as if
they open that one up it would go under State Law which currently
prohibits BSL.

...I think that if we can get places like Miami Dade, Denver, etc to change on the BSl issues I would think that we can turn the tide nationally.

Default Miami has almost 7 million people

I agree but Miami will not even change a comma in the Article 17 of Chapter 5 because that opens Pandoras legal box. Technically in FL BSL is still banned. They let Miami get away with it through grandfathering. Please excuse my ranting....

They are such a huge area yet only one shelter? And how many of those dogs are pit types we never see? LOTS I know I toss and turn at night after walking the runs of 74th street.

Not only do we have BSL and MSN down here we have a huge noose around rescue groups such as myself. The honest rescues do not stand a chance they get us for SO many fees it is terrible. And where do we go for money the H$U$ you get the idea. I rather pay for it myself.

Palm Beach the County I live in has the County Attorney that was PETAS ex attorney and that is what we are up against down here.

I was at 4 of the 5 chapter 5 meetings in Miami, there was OVERWHELMING support from the people, they had to table the meeting one time to recruit people on their side, and guess what it was city workers.

So yes I think caca runs uphill, and we are seeing it down here they carry that 89 page BSL to all the meetings and spread the word to all the shelters and next thing you know i am paying them to join. Mind you some give dogs to us for free some for 18 dollars. I mean you need 30 million for a new shelter and the County says go to heck and you charge 18 dollars for a FULLY worked up dog, tax, tag and title so to speak. Chip spay, meds to be exact.

Where is the logic in all of this? Why impose laws that force the dogs north to us, only to only charge 18 dollars and then complain they cannot get money. I mean rescues? would you charge an adoptive parent 20 bucks with the works? No yet they fee us to death the entire thing is way out of hand and is total chaos.

Thanks for letting me rant.
