Default Is this training technique too extreme?

While searching you tube for some training videos I came across some by Fred Hassen using a shock collar. All of his video's show the end result, none of the actual training.
His web site has much of the same thing.

The end result is amazing but at what cost?

Anytime Fred Hassen's name comes up, I tell people to run, quickly, that man has ruined a lot of good dogs with an e-collar .

If you want some great info on e-collar training, go look up Lou Castle, the man has some of the soundest training practices out there, and I learned a ton from going to his seminar.

E-collar training will be a last resort for my dog.

I had commented on one of Fred's "training" videos and questioned him on why it was so cut up or edited. That you really couldn't tell when the dog was corrected or the dog's reaction to the collar. And then I told him that after viewing his other videos that I didn't want a dog that was nothing more than a robot.

Needless to say my comments got removed. Guess I hit a nerve.
