Default PA Posts Dog Kennel Inspections Online

State posts dog kennel inspections online
Of The Morning Call
Inspections of all of Pennsylvania's 2,600 licensed dog kennels are now going online. The state Department of Agriculture unveiled its new Web site today -- about two months after The Morning Call created the first online kennel inspection database, using state records.

The public can search the state records by county, class, name, address, or ZIP code. It can be accessed at http://services.agriculture.state.pa...spections.aspx

Bob Baker, an investigator with the American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, hailed the decision to put the records online, saying it will improve government transparency and accountability.

But Linda Lowney, a Bucks County kennel owner and the state legislative representative of the American Boarding Kennel Association, said the move would do nothing to improve the care of dogs in kennels.
