| From www.dogpolitics.com: PETA's 97 Percent Death Rate - Please Donate To Help Kill More Animals PETA has once again triumphed - upping its kill rate even higher. This just in - PETA killed a whopping 97% of all the dogs and cats it took in in 2006 - the organization took in 3,061 “companion animals” in 2006, of which it killed 2,981 and rehomed just 12 little souls. Numbers don't lie! Check it out! In total, PETA's own numbers show they KILLED a staggering 17, 600 pets Thanks to blatent press sluttiness and no real programs , PETA raised THIRTY MILLION DOLLARS last year to kill 17, 600 pets - now that's what I call ethical! And thanks top the generousity of supporters like you - oh, and Pam Anderson - - PETA can continue killing, and killing and killing in the name of animals. My heart is warmed everytime I think of their walk-in dead dog freezer down there... at their Virginia headquarters. It's a modern miracle to think that they can store all those carcases at once without having to rehome them, and they can save money too by having them hauled away all at once. PETA"S 2008 is shaping up to be a killer year for revenue - with even more PR and more celebs promising to help kill more animals. Which is why I am urging all of you to do your part to help kill more animals. Why your gift of just$10, $25 or $50 can help PETA send out more euthanasia crews into the field - especially to the poor, rural South - where lots of poor blacks and white trash live - and of couse they don't deserve to own any animals - especially pitbulls. Not to worry - PETA can solve that problem, and it's not like it's racist, or anything. Your generous gift to PETA can help wrest dog ownership away from those undeserving meat-eaters - and of couse help pay for dead dog storage once those doggies and kitties are dead. Don't forget - PETA's young field staffers are never without a syringe in the field. Andyour financial support will also help in the legal defense against PETA with chages from the DEA for illegal possession of of death-inducing drugs. Thanks to PETA and the hard work of hiring PR and law firms, oh and lots of celeb endorsements, PETA can take those disposable dollars that would have been wasted on giving to shelters at the local level and spend the money in a more worthy way - like on blow-up dolls and lettuce costumes for the people sent into the street to beg for money for PETA. It's just so much more effective to raise money using T & A, and if we get people to give money to PETA instead of local shelters, then be assured that those dogs and cats will be killed that much more quickly. PETA's intrepid leader, Ingrid Newkirk , wants to make sure all the dogs and cats have a "good death", and it's a cause that every animal lover supports. Ahhh - death. It's really PETA's mission in life. I urge all of you to please donate to PETA and help make 2008 a killer year. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For those of you unaware, I am a diversity communications consultant, and an advocate for civil and human rights AND I own a pitbull. The entire post is deliberately sarcastic and meant to illustrate PETA's racist agenda - ESPECIALLY in the South. PETA and other "AR" orgs deliberately target the poor, African American communities in the South for "services". While there is nothing wrong with giving to underserved communities, scratch the surface and you will find that PETA uses this as the platform to faciliate a legislative agenda that eliminates the ability for the poor to own pets, vpushing for anti-pet ordinances - including breed bans or anti-containment laws, such as anti-tethering ordinances. Perhaps you are familiar case last year in which young PETA field workers working poor, rural counties in North Carolina conned pet owners to surrender their dogs and cats to be "rehomed" at their headquarters in Virginia. The PETA workers immediately killed those pets in the back of a van using drugs without a DEA permit, and then dumped the dead carcasses in in the trash at the local Piggly Wiggly. Charged with crimes, PETA hired high profile criminal lawyers, had the charges reduced and the field workers were convicted of littering. In terms of racism, PETA and HSUS have generated thousands of press mentions in news stories that have been syndicated across the web, expertly using the media to deliberately and consistently characterize pitbull owners as "drug dealers, gang members and criminals". Take the test: Close your eyes and tell me what your mental image is of a pitbull owner? Close your eyes and tell me the color of their skin. Is your mental image of a pitbull owner of a white, upper class woman driving a Lexus? Now if your image is not of a person of color - or white - now tell me you mental image of that person's social or economic class? Now after PETA and HSUS have created the thousands of press mentions in which they characterize pitbull owners as criminals, gang members and drug-dealers - tell me what you think the average pet owner or politican thinks of pitbull owners? And THEN -having so clearly painted a picture for the press, the public and the politicians - it's rather easy to come to town to push for a breed ban or an anti-containment law. PETA and HSUS have engaged in a smear campaign to criminalize and marginalize pitbull owners and pave the way for anti-dog or anti-pet laws in local communities. It's the one-two punch, it's teeing up and popping it off - it's like taking candy from a baby. The poor who live in rural communities - those who are without access to legal resources or are unable to mount opposition to local anti-pet ordinances - are PETA"s targets. And if the residents of those poor communities happen to be to be black or Hispanic and poor - chances are greatly increased that those anti-dog ordinances will pass. For PETA, the poor in rural communities are the low-hanging fruit - easy pickings. PETA's racist agenda needs to be exposed. http://www.dogpolitics.com/my_weblog...97-percen.html |
