Default Is this normal ?

I have 2 female dogs. Angel who is 3 yr old APBT and Harley who is a 2 yr old APBT/Mastiff mix. They are great dogs, never violent or aggressive towards anyone or any other dogs. They are inside dogs and are great together when they are inside. They curl up next to each other and lick each other to death. However, recently when we take them outside to run around and play they have been getting really rough w/ each other and very aggressive. They stop as soon as we yell and them and then its over. I am afraid that it may lead to something more. Has anyone dealt w/ this before ?

Well my first question would be are they both spayed?

Also, are they left alone together when you are not at home?

Notch and Tess play pretty rough. They are never allowed alone with each other. When they are together, they are fully supervised.

They are at an age where they are starting to mature which is often when dogs will stop getting along if they are DA. Keep a close eye on them and don't leave them together unsupervised as coolhandjean already said
