Default Foster Pup & need advice about patches of fur missing

Hi:

We took in a 7 mo. old all white bull terrier last night to foster and he has 3 small round patches of fur missing. The skin underneath is nice and pink. He played all last night with our 3 year old bull terrier and this morning I started thinking what if it is worms? I'm hoping it's just allergies. Does anyone else have this with their bullies? I don't have much info. on him other than the people didn't know how to care for him and they think he has allergies. The previous owners are hispanic and there is a language barrier so I'm not sure I'm getting everything correct. Any advice is appreciated. Of course I will be taking him to my vet but I have to work full days this week so I can't get him in until next week. Thanks

I would take him to your vet. Are you fostering for a rescue or something? If so, I would use their vet. What food are you feeding him? Also, thanks so much for fostering!

We got our bully from Puget Sound Rescue but this bully that we are fostering we found in the paper and we called and found out that the dog had not been taken care of properly and the people didn't know what they were getting into and we offered to help out. I will be taking him to my vet next week but I thought I would see if anyone else had any thoughts. He obviously has allergies, been fed poor food, and had two bald round spots on his head, on his hip, and on his leg. I'm trying to find out more to see if he's had shots, etc.

Where are the three patches and what size are they ?
I would at least try to call in at your vets to get some Pro Meris Duo flea and tick care, it also covers for demodex, which is also a common ailment of many dogs today, left untreated this can become very serious indeed.

At least applying the treatment to the back of the neck will tide him over until next week if that is the earliest you can take the dog.

You could also ask about a strong wormer but for this you would need the dogs weight and also, maybe they would require to see the dog, just to be on the safe side

Please keep the forum updated.

And by the way, Welcome to the forum and thank you for caring

Dray x

I would like to see the pictures of the ones on the head as these may simply be something to do with the hormonal glands, they sometimes loose hair on the base of the tail

It could also be something more sinister. Is the dog scratching at all? Do they look sore or are they just bald spots ?

ok here are some pics of the sores after bath time. Hopefully this will help. I really think he has not been properly cared for and he is suffering from allergies. I just hope he doesn't have ringworm. He doesn't have fleas so I know it's not flea bites. Thanks for any help.
