Default Introducing My New Foster Beauty!

Well, here's the new girly, Beauty! Raven is so in love and thinks now her AND Bailey should be her dogs! lol Beauty was an owner surrender, which we normally don't take, but Bully Buddies have generously opened the doors to owner surrenders for me since our special needs family can no longer take dogs directly from the shelter because of Raven's health issues and contracting bordetella bronchiseptica from some of our foster pups who had kennel cough. I am so thankful that they have allowed us to do this as we just couldn't imagine not fostering. Our life would just seem so incomplete not having a chance to welcome new dogs into our home and helping them find the families they deserve. Beauty came to us from a friend of Raven's dad. She was found as a four month pup by one of his buddies wandering the streets and her owner was not to be found, so he passed her on to Lawrence and his family who had her spayed, shots, etc... They've had her for about a year and decided to rehome her due to no fault of her own. In fact, the complete opposite. Beauty has been wonderful with his three kids, and they think she is beyond stellar but because this guy works crazy hours, he felt she wasn't getting the home SHE deserved. So.. they contacted Raven's dad to see if I could take her in and find a family for her that has the time to give her that she needs. We are already smitten with her. She is SO eager to please and responsive, full of kisses and wiggles and very well behaved. So far she's been great with the dogs and cat. Just a big puppy that wants to play and have fun. I can tell already she's going to be a hard one to give up. I think we are all a little attatched to her already and it's not helping that she looks like a leaner version of our Nyx who just passed away.

Here she is "helping" with Raven's physiotherapy! lol

Awwwww..... thanks. They have been a really amazing support in more ways than one! I also have some opportunities coming up to take some dogs that have been in foster care for a number of months but the foster family can no longer care for them so inadvertantly they've been quarenteened! lol I've got all our connections informed to keep an ear open for situations that might suit our needs, in which we can still help out, so you let us know if you have a similar situation too Ellena, where we might be able to help.

Hey! Don't you start now! lol Remember my chant.... "I'm not keeping any fosters. I'm not keeping any fosters. I'm not keeping any fosters." lol Gaud... If I don't keep telling myself that, I'd have about 50 dogs right now!

You guys are terrible! I seem to remember a similar conversation about Shasta!

Although, if Shasta was good with the other dogs in the house, I almost would have considered it! I don't know... it's is tempting, as it's been with many of my wonderful fosters, but she, so far anyway, seems so adoptable, ya know. I've always thought if I ended up keeping a foster, it would be because they weren't adoptable but I was still willing to deal with their issues. It's those hard cases I see me winding up with! They seem to be my specialty. Nyx was one of those hard cases, and she wound up being amazing with some work. I think those are the dogs that need me the most. And really, Raven loves them all!
