Default Has your dog ever gone through a window or a door?

Has your dog ever gone through an open or shut window or door. Has your dog ever turned a door handle?

He broke through a window screen, came floating through the air, and landed on my couch.

As soon as my pup Achilles was big enough to open the back door...he did so.

I came home from work at lunch over Summer break, and the back door was wide opn. I yelled at my kids for letting flies in , and put the dog out to go potty. No sooner did I turn around did the pup flip the handle, and walk back in...he just saw everyone else do it, and knew that was how to open the door!

He also taught himself to turn on the water spigget in the back yard, but that's another thread!

Dexter used to open the slider by pushing on the handle inside.

My dogs have never done anything like that (too small, hehe) but the doctor I used to work for had GSDs. One of his females, Kira, not only opened the doors and let herself out, but she knew how to unlock the deadbolt then open the door.

All of my dogs know how to open the screen door. When we were living at my mom's house they knew how to open the basement door because it was a handle not a knob.

My 17lb. Jack Russell (Sassy) can pop the back door open......she runs and jumps at it...and eventually forces it open
First time she did it, scared the crap out of me...I thought someone(human) was coming through

My daughter's Rottweiler Brutus went right through their kitchen window to go after a squirrel that was taunting him.......

We have to put cotter pins in our gate handles because my female will lift the handles up with her nose, but once she's out the gate she gets scared and comes back in the yard and sits on the deck -- it's the craziest thing I've ever seen.

Big girl can open sliding glass patio doors that are unlocked...she learned it in the other house and does it here too.

She also KNOWS where the back door lock is when she goes potty so when its time to go out she jumps at the door and "noses" the lock..but she hasn't figured that one out yet..

My male has bust my screen on the sliding glass door too many times to count. He can also turn the knob to open the door in the basement, I have to use the latch that is mounted at the top to keep him from getting out.

my husband took shadow for a ride in the car and opened up the window enough so he can get some air (he gets car sick) he said the next thing he saw was his back legs flying out the window, my husband stopped traffic in the middle of the road, got out, he thought that he was gonna run or something, but he just sat there, starring at him as if he did nothing wrong...he opened the car door and told him to get his a$$ in, and that was that........but what cracks me up is that he calls me to yell at ME! as if I taught him that, and when the moment shadow does something good, ex. a command, or he when he plays gentle w/ the baby, he's "our" dog, but the moment he does something stupid he become "my" dog.....LOL!!

Once I had Chyna in the car and stopped by a friend's house for a second. Her cat jumped on the hood of the car, so when I came out my window was busted. She didn't shatter it, so she didn't get out of the car. But, I still had to have the window replaced.

A male I used to have busted out two windows cause there was someone in front of the house. On both occassions he simply spaced out and didnt brake in time as he ran up to the window barking his ass off. But as soon as the window shattered he got freaked out and hightailed it in the opposite direction.
