It's not approved 'shorthand', inow, you won't see it in court transcripts, but it is very common online and in texts.

Not bad! I bet if you started using it in chat rooms, it would catch on! I think that's how most internet shorthand gets started anyway, someone gets lazy and/or is trying to respond really fast, and words get shortened and recreated...case in point, 'w007', and a whole new word gets born! Hey, as long as everyone else in the chat/forum gets it, I say, rock on!

I will say though, as a home key typist, that typing 'prolly' is easier than 'pbly' because of the location of the letters on the keyboard. Maybe that contributed to why it was shortened that way?
