I took Kayrah down to Waikiki today, and I think we made a good impression on some people.
I've been consistantly training with the GL, and the only thing I really hate is some ignorant people think it's a muzzle (because that small piece of nylon will protect you from my vicious dog

)
But I had one woman who first asked if she bit

and I cheerfully said "nope!" She pet her and said, "so I guess you're not afraid to own a pit bull?" I laughed and said, "No way!". Kayrah greeted a little, but she isn't very social with other people (just not a huge wiggle butt in crowds). I hope though the woman thinks twice next time she hears a media coverage

I also informed her that most of the pit bull attacks aren't even real pit bulls, just mainly crosses that are unsocialized. She seemed very receptive!
Then we walked around, trying to find food. It's soemtimes unnerving, because people watch you intensely. But my girl acted like a dream, sitting on command, listening so well. One person said, "what kind of dog is that?" "A pit bull". "she minds very well!" I just smiled and said, "well, by owning a pit bull, it's my responsibilty to make sure no one is uncomfortable!". He thanked me and I bought pizza
Unfortunately, there wasn't always good comments. One guy did a "drive by insult" by walking by real fast, and commenting on my dog's muzzle lol Husband, who isn't entirely used to these insults, was like, "muzzle? Where?".

I didn't realize muzzles come in bright blue.
But I always proudly said, "she's a pit bull" and I'm just proud how she handled the couple dogs we ran into. The only issue is that she lunged and jumped into the air every time a pidgeon took off beside her

She's never bird reactive lol Just today, when she feels like embaressing me!
Thanks for reading
