Default Breaking Stick

I am trying to be a responsible pit bull owner and I am looking to buy a breaking stick. *Sorry if I'm missing the thread* I did a search...HONEST! Does anyone have any websites they could share where I could order one? Spanks. Deli appreciates it.

go to a hardware store, and buy a wooden hammer handle. Sand the skinny end so that it tapers to a point and viola...parting stick!

Honestly, many of the ones that "look" cool are not at all functional. The next step is to know how to use it...

I'll let the husband know. He's the one in charge of sanding. I've been reading up on how to use a breaking stick though I'll have to wait until one is in my hands to actually try it out. Thanks!

You can also order them from Pit Bull Rescue Central, although they are out at the moment and waiting for some more to come in....

The best looking sticks I've seen available on the 'Net are at Dakati Kennels. They aren't exactly cheap, but they look nice.

http://www.custom-collars.com/

I just found this site, too. They've got a pretty good price on sticks made of plexi-glass. (Yeek. Except they charge almost $10 for shipping. Nevermind. LOL)

They're go-jiss! I was going to order another poly stick, but I'm thinking I might just get one of those pretty wooden ones instead.

I was wondering about the function of that plexi glass stick versus those made of the poly/wood materials. Would you say it was durable or more so?

I don't know, since I've never owned a wooden one. I'd think the poly ones would be more durable, just not as pretty. Also, for those who are concerned about breaking teeth, wood would probably be softer.

http://www.pbreporter.com/superstick.htm

The PITBULL reporter sells the superstick. Its designed & made by people in the know. Hammer handles work in a pinch, but may not last past the first use. The price is cheap & quality high. Defangers are optional.
