| HI! I just joined today, but I'm trying with all my might to find some people to go and speak in favor of adopting out "pit bulls" from the Humane Society of Tacoma and Pierce County, in Tacoma Washington! If anyone lives near there, and is available Tuesday, December 4th at 6 PM please go to the Humane Society in Downtown Tacoma, Center street (I can give directions if needed!) to speak at a public forum on their pit bull adoption policy! They do NOT adopt out "pit bulls" at this point in time, and since I've volunteered there have not adopted them. They have started adopting "pit" mixes! Which was a few months ago and a great start. Now I'm hoping that some people will come to the open forum to speak in support of adopting "Pit bulls" and not euthinizing all of the ones they get! Like I said, it's TUESDAY, DECEMBER 4TH @ 6PM. The location is THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF TACOMA AND PIERCE COUNTY Address: This is the email I recieved: " ![]() Humane Society Pit Bull Policy Forum Fact Vs. Fiction: Pit Bulls in Tacoma/Pierce County PUBLIC FORUM 6PM Tuesday, December 4 Humane Society Community Room Light Refreshments Provided RSVP to kathleeno@thehumanesociety.org; (253) 284-5850 FACTS ·369 Pit Bulls were returned to owners in 2006. ·35 Pit Bulls were adopted in 2006. ·782 were euthanized in 2006. ·Goal of counting down to zero euthanasia of healthy, friendly, adoptable pets is not breed specific. ·Dogs are not always properly identified as Pit Bulls and Pit Bull mixes. What do YOU think?"" If you can go please do! I unfortunetly am not able to make this even, though I sincerly wish I could. I work weekdays @ night and that even falls right in the middle of my workday. WIth christmas coming up I'm just not financially able to miss work.I hope someone will show up in support of the dogs! Thanks! ![]() |
