Default OK this is a good moral dilemma

What would you do if your spouse developed a serious allergy to your pets to the point that they couldnt coexist in the same household?

For those who dont have a significant other, what if you met your soulmate and you were madly in love and the two of you discover after you set the wedding date that he or she has serious pet allergies?

Simple... the dog goes out on a chain or we find a new home for it. My human family will ALWAYS take first chair over ANY of my animals.

You would seriously give up your husband, child, lover... whatever.. for your dog? Let me be the first to call bullshit on this one... that or you have some serious issues.

I asked this question once on another forum and I think you will be surprised to see how many people share her opinion.

To answer my own question, a human life last much longer so I would put a human first so I didnt have to be alone.

I'd stock up on allergy medication. There has to be a drug that would help. So, no one has to give the dogs up and everyone can live happily ever after...............

As I'm not married, I'll tell y'all what my mother had to say:
"His *** would be out that ******* door!"

Gotta love my family.

As for myself... I'm not sure. I'd probably drug up the significant other...

I would try that first too, but I assumed from the way Alan's question was worded that there wouldn't be medication that would help.

Well #1...if I were dating someone, I think I'd know pretty darn fast whether they were allergic to dogs....and I couldn't date someone that couldn't be around my animals. Parting is such sweet sorrow, but there's other fish in the sea....that don't sneeze around my dogs.

#2....if my hubby all of a sudden developed this raging allergy to our dogs....He'd be in the Allergist's office every week for his shots because I wouldn't be giving up my dogs...and to be perfectly honest, I don't think he'd ask me to either....he knows what they mean to me.

And seriously...I've never known anyone to all of a sudden develop a raging allergy.....an allergy of this nature is usually something they've had since childhood

Alan never specifically said anything about no allergy medications.

Yes, I'm aware of that, which is why I said I assumed.

Pet allergies would probably be a deal breaker from the get-go. I talk about my animals so much I'm sure I would know by the first date if they were allergic or not. I find that a lot of men are "allergic" to cats. I think thats just an excuse because a lot of guys don't like cats. But I used to have a co-worker at a vet clinic who was allergic to dogs and cats and she owned both and took allergy meds because she loved animals so much.
