Good advice! I have five dogs in my household, but they all seem to fit in well thankfully!

I have five dogs and a cat in my household. Three pit bulls, a pit bull mix, and a boxer/terrier mix. They all live in harmony together.

I have 5 dogs, only one APBT mix, Mollie, the rest are mixed breeds, one Lab pup that's almost a year old. Oh, and add 2 cats into the mix, one very cross one named Cross

Awesome I was just looking for this info because I have 2 puppies . That I must admit are sometimes exhausting . I do almost everything one on one . there really only together to eat and to play . Hopefully it will get easier with Canine Good Citizen training .The lady I am going to works with the shelters here and all the APBT'S . So I am really looking forward to it . Today while on one of our walks I saw a man in an electric chair with 2 adult rotties and they were so well behaved . I have to admit I was in awww . I can't wait for that day .

I have 7 as well. 5 pits (2 adults) 3 pups. In total I have 3 male pits, 2 female pits, a female Jack and a male Rott. No fights. Baby scuffles with the pups...but I will attribute that to them being all under 6 months old.

Surprisingly I never had any major issues in my dogs. At one point I had 5 dogs together, but now I only have 3. The 3 I have get along great. They have there scruffs like any other dogs, a few bloody noses and ears from scratching and biting, but they always stop before anyone gets seriously hurt. The thing I learned that is the most effective is to not intervene because they settle it themselves. All 3 have grown up with each other since they were little pups. I got Diamond when she was 5 weeks old. When Diamond was 4 months when I got Nina at 8 weeks. And Diamond was 5 months and Nina was 12 weeks when I got Capone at 6 weeks. Diamond asserted her dominance over Nina since a pup and Nina in turn did the same to Capone. They have their hierarchy, but they all know I am the Alpha. I treat them equally as possible, but Diamond is more spoiled because she was an only child at one point in time lol.

I feel a lot better having read this thread! I just introduced a year old female pitbull into our 1 dog (2 1/2 year old lab mix) home. They are already playing like crazy. I will say that our pitbull does make some frightening play noises! But she's clearly playing. Lots and lots of supervision for now...

I have 4 dogs and they all share the same food bowl and the kids drop food on the floor all the time and my dogs get along great! I have never had a fight between my dogs but I never leave them unsupervised together.

Yes, having 3 dogs, my house is in harmony (most of the time) hubby thinks he in charge, but they respond better to me. They don't like my hubby!

I have 2 pitbulls a 5 mo & 11wk. They 5 mo grabbed the 11wk by the neck skin only and started to drag him across the room then he started shaking him. I stopped him immediately cause it looked like he wanted to hurt him only no one growled or barked. My question is if that is normal behavior for pitbulls?

You should check out the stickies in the Behavior and Training sections. There are also some posts that can help you.

Pit bulls generally play rougher then MOST dogs do. I wouldnt guess if this is typical for your dog or not. Only you would know the temperament of your dogs.

Good for you for keeping such a good eye out and stopping it. Continue with that and make sure that they play stops when you say so and there should not be a problem. Just keep watching the play and breaking it up when it gets to rough.
