Default Does your dog object to you spanking your children?

Has any of your dogs ever given you flack for spanking one of your children?

I don't spank my kids.....

BUT....when Nakita (Akita/PB) was alive.....
I was sitting on the couch....she was laying at my feet (as per usual)
and my husband came in, plopped down on the couch next to me...and slapped my leg (in play), but it surprised me and I let out a yelp !!
Nakita was up and back down in seconds flat......
Which left hubby holding his ear.....apparently Nakita had jumped up and bit his ear....
So...he tried to get the bleeding to stop, but couldn't...and had to go to the E.R and got stitches...believe me the guys at work didn't let him live that one down....

He didn't blame or scold Nakita, because he said she was just doing her job.
That grrl would've protected me with her life........ R.I.P Kit....

lol...I haven't had any of rhis out of my current dog, but when I was a kid we had a chow chow and chow shepherd/mix (both female) that would both dive in, and take spankings for us! My dad would have to put the dogs out while my mom spanked us lol. The pure chow would just take the licks, but the chow/shepherd would try to stop the madness. Both were great dogs that have a special place in my heart

No they object to my hubby spanking me on my bottom - LOL Or play wrestling..I guess they don't object per say, but are pretty watchful. When we are hugging and being goofy, Miss Maddie runs into the middle of us and start licking me to death. Some times my hubby does it on purpose so she will respond because he thinks it is cute.
I don't know if I should discourage that behavior of hers or not.

I don't have children to spank, but Kayrah get's worried when we uhm....you know She sits there, whining. Either she wants to join (which wouldn't surprise me) or she thinks I'm in pain

I hate having to stop, and yell at her to get on her bed.

omg...I hate to slightly hijack this thread, but can anyone tell me why Kayrah loves Husbands...kibbles and bits?? We're working hard on detering her with training, but seriously. The other night, we were getting ready to shower and husband started to run... She actually got SO excited she jumped up to his...bits

It's really funny, annoying and disturbing at the same time

Jacks tend to go for the "Frank/Beans" too...and here I just thought it was because they were too short to reach the jugular......

No, Kayrah gets excited. As soon as she hears the zip of the zipper, she's RIGHT THERE!

As far as my part, anyone always has my permission to hijack a thread. It's called subject progression and if it keeps people talking that thats a good thing.

The only problem I have along the lines mentioned is one of my cats never wanting anything to do with me unless I go to the restroom then she gets mad when I shut the door on her.

Miakoda used to be somewhat protective of Cole. By this I mean when he was upset, she would get upset as well. Shaker was the same way with my friend's baby. When the baby started crying, Shaker's eyes would bug out and he would run to me and then back to the child until someone calmed the baby.

However, my dogs know their place on the totem pole and by NO means do they have a right to get aggressive towards me or anyone in my family if we need to fuss at Cole or upset him by taking the remote away form him or whatever.

Any dog that tries to come between me and my child and starts acting aggressively will join the rest of my dogs........on the mantel in a box. Or buried out at my parents. Period.
