Exclamation Help!

Bit got into something yesterday while I was at work. My mom called and said she'd been eating grass and vomiting all day. Last night she was walking with her haunches tucked and her belly was bloated. I live in the middle of nowhere and the vet won't be open till Monday. My aunt called her vet and he said to feel her tummy for a mass or hard spots. I feel nothing. He said to feed her canned pumpkin and see if it helps her pass a possible obstruction. So, we did. She whined loudly for a while last night and she's normally a quiet pup. However, she never passed anything.

This morning she's playful and acting normal. She's kept down a little food, her stomach is no longer bloated and I still don't feel anything hard in her abdomen. She's laying on the bed watching tv with me right now, correction, she's sleeping and snoring. I'm worried sick and I have to work 12 hours today. I don't want to leave her until I know she's okay. Anyone have any suggestions as to what it could have been, or if it's over and she's fine?

It sounds like the pumpking helped but I would still take the dog to the vet just to be sure.

I plan on it, just as soon as they open Monday Morning 7AM. The next thing I plan to do is get insurance. I don't want another Lucie incident... I'm so attached to Bit already, I don't want to go through that again, especially right now.

I got a quote from them today as a matter of fact... $27.85 not bad.. and worth every penny,,, I wish I'd have had it on Lucie... I may have been able to save her from her cancer... I didn't even know it existed when I had her though. The vet's should mention that...

BTW, Bit is MUCH better. She's back to normal and she's having bowel movements again... I never thought I'd be so happy to see her poo... I'm still going to take her on Monday though. I found a Four O'clock flower my mom had in the corner of the yard and she forgot about it, Bit however found it, and I'm scared that's what she got... Very poisonous plant... We thought we moved everything of that variety into the garage when Bit and I moved in 2 weeks ago... One little slip is all it takes. That's the only thing I've found that she's not supposed to have.... so far anyway....

do you keep her outside while you are at work? i would seriously think about crating her inside the house, and having your mom take her out on leash to go potty, this way your mom can watch her instead of just letting her go outside alone.. it sounds like no one was watching her when she got into the toxic flower....

She was an inside dog until my boyfriend kicked us out, we've only been here for two weeks, but my mom rents her house and one of the stipulations is no inside dogs or cats due to berber carpeting... Normally we would cheat, and have them in anyway, but her landlord is her boss, and she works from home so her boss is here several times a week and you never know when he'll pop in. He already doesn't like the parrots, but tolerates them. My mom has an older Min Pin so she's not as curious as Bit, we thought we'd brought everything in that could make her sick, but we forgot that one stupid flower... Anyway, we put up a pretty large kennel in one corner of the yard today and my stepdad said he's gonna build her a nice house (Right now she's got a small and old one, but she's still little enough that it's got room to grow into) and we put a light out there so I can see her and her blankey and babies (chew toy teddy bear, and giraffe) She seems happy and she's certainly safe. Hopefully in a couple of months I'll have my money straightened out and can afford our own place and she can come back in. I miss her sleeping with me... I've never had an outside dog before, mainly because I worry about this sort of thing..... And after Lucie it took me a long time to even think about getting a pup. I'm going to bed cause we have to be at the vet at 7... She's acting and looking much better though...
