I'm thinking about getting Pet Insurance.

What is everyone's thought on it?

The reason i want it is because my girlfriends dog had degenerative myelopathy and she is paying a whole lot of money.

And i know when my chihuahua broke his leg it cost me quite a bit.

So i was wondering what your thoughts are about it.

there are a few plans, so make sure you see which one covers what.. i had it for my 3, but it was too expensive for the 3 dogs per month, so i stopped it after a year.. when i did have it though it was like human health insurance, they covered certain things 80/20 and you paid the vet up front, then submitted the bill to the insurance and they reimbursed you the percentage.. other things they cover 100%. alot of stuff they will only cover once too, so if the dog has the same thing happen twice, you can only get paid once..

there are a few companies that offer it, so check each one and what they cover

its worth it if you have one dog.. but start adding more then one dog and that monthly payment adds up.

I use VPI Pet Insurance. They have a few different levels of insurance that you can choose from.

There are some good insurance coverers, that I plan on starting in the new year. But it does add up after multiple dogs. When Issis was with us, I had planned on doing full coverage double illness, but for two dogs it was over $100 a month!!!!

Life is so much cheaper with one dog lol
