Default *Senior Alert!* Meet Bob!

Affectionately known as the Bob-i-nator, Bob-o, and the Old Man.

Bob was waiting on a woman's porch one day when she got home from work. She had never seen him before, so she called us to come and get him. No one answered the ad in the newspaper and no one called to report him missing.
He is an AWESOME dog! Incredibly sweet and has a wonderful attitude about everything, even getting his ears cleaned.

Bob went to the vet last week and the vet said he's about 10 years old. His teeth are filed flat, he has old hematoma scarring on his ears from him shaking his head with ear infections, he has a benign tumor on his eyelid that needs to be removed, and he is stiff and sore so he "bunny hops" when he walks. NONE of this slows him down one bit! He loves life!

He seems to be okay with other animals, but he's a piglet and won't share his food or treats -- he gets feisty about that. He takes food gently from your hands and knows lots of tricks. He will also sit still while you clean his ears and give him eye ointment. Bob didn't even mind getting his nails trimmed and he wagged his tail the entire time. Oh, and he rarely ever barks, but makes great growly noises when he plays!
Bob still has a lot of love to give and wants nothing more than a soft bed and some toys to call his own. If you know of someone who wants a fantastic dog, please contact me ASAP at jen@pitbulltalk.com

Awesome! He is such a cutie!

Can you tell us how he was reunited? I hope they are taking care of his eye lid issue and his ears

That's great!

What's the story behind the reunion? Can you share it?

So, looooong story short:

His owner, Miss L, needed to find a new place to live because the landlord didn't want a "vicious" pit bull living there. Miss L sent Bob to live with her boyfriend. Boyfriend became EX and, when Miss L went to take Bob back, boyfriend said he gave Bob away to "some people". Miss L has spent the last several months looking for Bob.

On Monday, Miss L stopped across the street at DAWS with photos, dog license, and every conceivable piece of paperwork showing ownership of Bob. She had seen a pic of Blaze on the DAWS website and thought Blaze was Bob:

Sorry to say, not the same dog. Miss L was extremely upset, and left some photos of Bob with the volunteers.

Fast forward to yesterday when an amazing volunteer at DAWS stopped by to tell me about Miss L. He didn't have the photos handy, but was positive that Bob belonged to Miss L. Another volunteer stopped by with the photos and it was a match! Bob's REAL name is Bishop. As soon as I called Bob Bishop, his head snapped around and he just stared at me.

We called and left messages at all available numbers, then popped Bishop into the van and drove to the address provided. Alas, no one was home and the messages were not answered until after we left for the day. I left word with Dispatch to call me ASAP when the messages were returned and I would come back in to release Bishop to Miss L.

Needless to say, it was a very emotional reunion for all of us. Bishop is SO loved. He left wearing one of Christine and Mick's donated collar-and-leash sets and the biggest smile I've ever seen on a "vicious" pit bull.

Abso-freakin'-lutely! His mom is a vet tech and he was all ready for surgery before he was "lost".
