Default Convincing DH to help build a spring Pole

I have an issue and hope someone can help. And I hope I put this in the correct section. If not, please feel free to move

I want to build Maddie a spring pole. She needs more exercise.
I suggested to my DH that we build a spring pole. He went nuts; very upset with me. He did so b/c he believes it equates with training a dog to fight. I know that is not true, but changing his mind - well..............

Anyone have any feedback that I can send to him that will convince him otherwise?

first, make sure that springpoles are not illegal in your town or state... if not, then show hubby pictures. you can also start out with a Flirt pole for maggie instead, its like a fishing pole and you stand and she runs after the item at the end of the rope.. that will work too for more exercise for her... then you can slowly get hubby to understand spring poles are good for fitness..

flirt poles are not illegal. SPRING Poles are the ones that you put into the ground with concrete, a wood board, a spring, etc....

you want like the cat toys that have the feathers on the end that you swing around with your hand.....

I have a 140lb garage door spring from Home Depot. It is chained to a tree branch , and has nylon rope french braided on the other end. A "BOOGIEMAN" , ( Forum member, he sells them.. PM him for details ) beef hide will probably work better.

The holes on either end offer endless mounting possibilities. 140lbs., is the best strength spring. Just right , IMO.

I didn't know what DM meant either. lol...

But yeah, show him all the healthy non-fighting dogs on this site that use it, and hopefully it will help change his mind. Plus, he should realize that you don't plan on conditioning your dog to fight.

my dog was clueless about spring pole and flirt pole at first so i tied her stuffed duck on the end and she got it right away.she likes the flirt pole better and plays very gently with the kids.
