Default Rescued Pup

I have rescued Mindi's brother who was taken into a home an then was going to be brought back. I took him to keep him from going back into a bad situation now he needs a home as I can't keep both of them. I don't want to take him to the shelter. I'm asking $100 adoption fee and will be screening all applicant's closely. Also how would I require a neuter contract can anyone supply me with one. If you have any further advice on adopting him out please share. Thanks

go to www.pbrc.net and see if they will help with the neuter fund.. do not adopt him out until he is neutered. it could take months to longer to find the perfect home for him, so be prepared to foster him .. since he is up for adoption, you must make sure his temperment is 100% sound the way it should be.. pbrc can also help with any other questions you have .. and some members here can too..

you can also list him on petfinder, with the state , age, bio on him and email to contact you..

Default thanks

thanks for the advice will do what you suggested my main concern is finding him a good home if we have to keep him for a while we'll figure it out. The only problem is Mindi's been very aggressive towards him and I'm not sure if there just playing or if they don't like each other their from the same litter so I finding it strange but I've never raised two pups at the same time before and they have been separated for a week. She's growling, biting him and barring her teeth is there any way i can get this to stop. Thanks for the advice in advance.

If I read your post correctly, the two pups are from the same litter?

If that's the case, then be aware that they are less likely to get along, as time passes.

Keep them separated (crated, in separate rooms, doors firmly closed) to avoid injury.

yes they are from the same litter i will keep them separated as Mindi is a lot smaller then him (I'm calling him Buddy for now) and I don't want her to get hurt. I just acquired him today to keep him from going back to the guy that originally had them, the lady that took him wasn't prepared for the responsibility of a pup. I couldn't watch him go back there. I'll be taking him to the vet in the next couple of days for a check up and worming meds, I will also book his first shot for when he's 8 weeks. Mindi's already had her checkup and her shots booked. The BYB they came from lives across the alley from me that's how I found out he was going back I was just going out as she was going to bring him back.

Mindi is the runt of the litter and that is why she's so small. I will post some pic's of the two of them if I can get my camera to work.

wait the male isnt even 8 weeks old yet??? how old is your dog the same age? they are probably playing like pups do, they have to stay together supervised if they were taken awaay too young, they need to learn proper bite inhibition and manners from each other..

I will also book his first shot for when he's 8 weeks. Mindi's already had her checkup and her shots booked.

ok, 7 weeks is not that bad.. they are probably playing . what does the male do when your female pup jumps on him? does he play back, or does he run and hide? if he runs and hides that means he doesnt want to play. if he goes after her with the same gusto he is fine with playing. owever, at this age you can start to separate them so that they bond to you and not each other.. most pups at this age should be separated, but still allowed to play at intervals.. you can also locate rescues in and around your state, and see if they can take the male .. make sure the rescue is reputable though.. pbrc.net has a list of rescues so check there..

She just attacks him with teeth barred and bites him really hard he'll bite back and then run from her. I may have a family friend who could take him she's going to come see him later today that way I won't have to worry as I know he'll get all the proper care.

Friend came and looked, she likes him but has to clear it with her boyfriend first so she said she'd phone me tonight or tomorrow and let me know. Keeping my fingers crossed. I'll let you all know as soon as I know.

He's found a home through a friend who's experience with APBT mixes, I talked to her last night and the whole family is just super excited. He's going to be neutered before he goes so it'll be a little bit before he's in his new home yet.
