Default UKC Showing

I am registering Phantom through UKC for a breeding he has done. I am considering showing him in UKC. I have never shown a dog in UKC and only attended one show. I will admit that I didn't really pay attention.

If you show UKC, can you please give me tips, ideas, rules, etc? I am checking out the UKC site today, but that can't tell you what experiance can. Thanks in advance!

Pwp Give Gabriell a call, she championed out Gritty on her own, also Preston shows with the UKC all the time, You know we will help you out. Besides Phantom is Adell's boyfriend the both get to show together.

This should help you out...

Major differences in the UKC ring as compared to ADBA are as followed:
You need to be able to
- gait the dog (although the dogs are moved around in the ADBA ring it is not the same type of thing. In UKC they are expected to stay by the owner and not be pulling so that the movement can be evaluated)
- stack and or free stack
- have the judge do a hands on eval
- Keep him from acting up and jumping around in the ring
- you show on a show collar and a lead instead of a buckle and 4 ft lead
-classes are also called a little differently
- the overall ring size is usually not as large so the spacing is often a little closer

I hope that helps
