Default Chicken Bone

A couple of nights ago I threw away a bucket of KFC. Harley got into the trash bag and dug out a bone from a leg. It was only about 2 1/2 inches in size, well Ozzy ate it. Then about 2 nights later he ate another. Should I be worried or should he pass it with no problems? He pooed in his crate this morning and it was a bit runny, but it also had a piece of a kong and a piece of a toy football in it. He is fine activity wise, playing normally, eating and drinking. I am with holding food today as a precaution to not upset his stomach if there is a problem.

My dogs eat things all the time that they are not suppose to. I would keep a watch on him. If you know anything different, his activity level, blood in stool, then I would take him in. You can also call your vet to see what s/he recommends.

I know I am late on this, I hope he is doing well....
Just to let you know.....
When Tabious ate a piece of pants...from tug of war...it ended up not passing . He would not eat or drink and when he did drink he threw it up...almost immediately.

Reason I say this is because, as long he is eating..let him eat normal...more of a chance that it will all pass in due time, when you start seeing that hesitation to eat and lack of spirit...then you need to go to the VET ASAP..

Even thouhgt we only waited 2 days at most afterwards....Tabious would have died in weeks time had we not taken him...from rotten intestines, we were told then if it ever happens again, make sure he eats nd as long as he eates the better the chance of him passing it will be.
Hope he is ok , and hope it helps, even for future if nothing else!

Thanks. He is doing fine. He's mad at me, actually they all 3 are, it was bath day...bwahahahaha! He is eating, drinking, and playing fine. I have had to take away all the kongs, the basketball, and any other man made toys for him as I noticed the other day he doesnt chew them, he eats them. When Mercedes was like 3 months old or so, she started pooping blood and throwing up everything. I took her in to the ER vet, Parvo test was neg, so they xrayed and found this big mass of stuff in her belly. Gave her some meds, got her hydrated and sent us home. Turned out she ate the cotton and squeaker out of a toy. I guess she passed it cause she was fine within a week. Scared the hell outta me though. That was the day I learned to drive a 5 speed in a hurry...LOL!

Little guy...you mean lard butt...LMAO! That sucks Tabious had to have surgery. I freaked out a little when Ozzy ate that bone. My Grandfather had a dog, not sure what she was, anyway, she got ahold of some chicken and one of the bones got lodged and he had to have her put down. It was to expensive for surgery. Broke his heart though, that was his baby. Went everywhere with him.

LMAO..ok then lard butt! LMAO! I know what you mean about surgery...we spent right at $1000.00! Not cheap, but couldnt lose him either! I am just glad he is doing well now though...been about 3 months ago I guess and all seems well, so hopefully, he will be ok.

I just dont understand why the VET is SOOO expensive. I mean I know it costs..but for heavens sake..not that damn much, I mean it should not!

I know, I took Parker for his shots a couple months ago, it was $200.00 Ri-freakin-diculous. I dont take the dogs to the vet unless I absolutley have to, I cant afford it.

Do some research into the vaccine schedules reccomended by most vets: there is more & more evidence that the excessive vaccinations are unecessary & may even be harmful. Many people believe (& there's research to back it up) that after one or two vaccinations, the animal is protected for many years, if not life. I'm thinking of rabies specifically, but I know it applies to others as well.

These were the last of his puppy shots and a Lyme's vaccine. Lyme disease has been bad here this year. 25-30% of all the animals tested, test positive, we were asked if we wanted the shot or not and we said yes. Then the Heartguard. But I will look into that. Thanks.
