Default We are Back! IL State Fair Dock Dogs

So we are back.........We made it out pretty well. The dock was real slick and I got kinda worried I was going to end up having to replace a hip or a ACL on one of the kids but we made it out injury free
Bozley had a bad event and tweaked his knee and got nervous to jump so I pulled him out of the comp. But Morgan made it out pretty good !

Morgan took two 1sts in Novices in her waves and then took 8th in armatures! I was pretty proud. She isnt the best but she LOVES it.

Bozley's I'm sorry mom face after I pulled him off the dock.

This is Morgan slipping off the dock in her 2nd wave and me freaking out thinking I am gonna be replacing a hip or ACL on her.............

Here is Morgan's Interview........They wanted a barking dog, well I have a barking dog ! The kids loved her.

Morgan with her medals. She wouldnt look at the camera as other dogs were jumping.

Here are more I found, I may get more when I get pics from my friends camera. Here is Morgan getting ready for her jump and me getting her to just calm down for a second to listen.

Then here are two from the last event at the Lake of the Ozarks, they are kind of grainy since they are not the originals.

I would be interested in info about events in the Midwest and south. For myself, and to pass on to the group in St. Louis. I know about the dockdogs.com website, but if there are individual club websites that could help me narrow down what I'm looking at, that would be helpful.

A good range would probably be IL, MO, OK, AR and TX. Maybe KS and IA, if they have anything in those states. Loki posesses the instinct to retrieve from the water, although she's never taken a flying leap into it. But it might be fun for us to look into, for her and for future dogs.

Splashdogs mainly has west coast events if I recall correctly. We are having a Club event Sept 8th in St Charles MO. I do not have the details yet as we are still working on them but I will let you all know when they happen. This one is going to be very casual and is in conjunction with a fly ball, agility, herding etc event. It is a grand opening to a new property here in town where a dock has been built.

Baha,

If you go to dockdogs forum there is a listing of all the local clubs around the nation. some have websites and some don't but you could get contact info for clubs in your area and surrounding areas.

Yes, splashdogs does mainly west coast events and are starting too branch across the nation as well.

And if you ever feel there is too much water soaked up in the turf, just let someone know so they can squeegie the water. It's great to see other bullies in the sport by the way. She looks like she is having a blast and I'm jealous you guys can have lake events. I've been wanting too do a lake event for a long time.

She is not that great (or horrible) but she has a BLAST so that is why we go. This was only her second event so I think there is room for improvement :-) I do a lot with the club my dog is just not that great but thats ok, she loves it ! She gets WAY too excited and forgets her obedience so we are going to be working on that in the off season. We are going to nationals in Oct as our club's Novice dog........too funny if you ask me. We have a practice today and I am going to try another one of my males and see how he does.

The lake event should be fun. I think my non-jumpers will be more inclined to jump so I am pretty excited about that.

Thanks for the info guys. Right now I've got my hands full, but I will definitely check it out for the future. If Loki finishes her UCDX this year, next year will be fun stuff like agility, so maybe we can do some dock diving then. And Terra pup is such a charge-ahead dog, she'd probably like it as well. Well, maybe. LOL
