Smile Sybil

Sybil is aptly named. She's two dogs in one! The first is a sweet, affectionate, adorable bull terrier; the other is an animal-hating bull "terrorist." Sybil was hit by a car, leaving her with only three legs and not much of a tail. That doesn't stop her bully spirit, though. She can walk nicely on-leash, play joyfully with her toys, and be the loving bull terrier you always wanted. But she ABSOLUTELY cannot be around other animals. It's possible, with continual and dedicated desensitization and counter-conditioning, she may be able to walk nicely around other dogs; we can refer you to literature and area trainers who are experienced with these methods. But basically, she can not be placed in a home where she will be exposed to animals. Thus, a fenced yard is essential. Sybil has been kenneled in Long Island, New York, for over a year and desperately needs her own family. If you can open your heart and home to her, please fill out an application and we will forward it to the all-breed rescue that is trying to place her.

From the site:

We'll post more detailed information about our Adoption Process soon. In short, we require an Adoption Application and a home check. Adoption fees range anywhere from $300 to $600 depending upon the age and health of the bully. We may not have a suitable dog for you immediately, in which case we'll keep your application on file and notify you when your "perfect" companion comes into rescue. We also share information about potential homes with other bull terrier rescue groups, so be sure to let us know if you've already submitted an application with another organization.

Until we develop our online application for your convenience, please use this version of our Adoption Application.

The first few months with your newly adopted dog are exciting and wonderful but can also be stressful to you both. Learn how to make the best of the adjustment period from this Whole Dog Journal article.

We often have dogs available who don't make it up to the website, either because of webmaster time constraints or because we already have applications from suitable prospective adopters on file. Please send in your adoption application now so as soon as an appropriate dog comes into rescue, we can contact you.

yeah, I was watching some of Living Fine or whatever the network is called. They were talking about how it is better to get your dog from a shelter than a breeder, and they had a lady looking for a dog. The guy mentioned that several times they will get a fullbred dog, and the lady asked if they cost more. The guy said no, but more often than not, it seems like they do, especially BT and English Bulldogs.
