Well...at least they weren't APBTs.

Some type of mastiff I heard. That's an unfortunate situation regardless of breed though.

They were calling them Bullmastiffs on CNN, after seeing some video footage the dogs they showed clearly were not Bullmastiffs..figures the media gets that wrong They also showed pit bulls in the same segmet. The media and "experts" were questioning what could have went wrong with the dogs, and that perhaps he had a heart attack so that is why they attacked.. anyone want to guess they wouldn't be asking the same questions if they were pitbulls?
Very tragic for the man who died.

When I first saw the article (on Netscape home page) they said that they were Filas. So I am not sure. The media screwed it up

A dog attack is a better headline.

I m just waiting for more info on this as the media has just not got this right to begin with.

Sad misfortune but there is a lot of things to ponder here.

OH hi Sean W and everyone else, Im not on as much these days Im pregnant again and Im walking around like a big tic.

ANYWAY....

I just hope this does not cause fear and the panic button for these dogs and their breed too.

The dogs never got complaints in the past and I feel sorry for this man who died, Im again just waiting for the out come you never can trust the media anymore .. I know that is an understatement...

Maybe he had a heart-attack and those big dumb dogs tried to help.
They jumped on him (scratches) and pulled him here and there. If these dogs had really killed him he would look much worse. The throat lasts openly, the face lasts bitten to pieces et cetera. Then the media would have reported this also.... with certainty!

I remember seeing this on the tv, and I do remember there being some mention of pitbulls in the segment. Watch, Mastiffs will now be the "most dangerous" breed out there. I could imagine the media searching through past reports of mastiff attacks, and such...
