Markeela and Shannon Daniels will no longer leave their home or their dogs
dogs unattended after someone broke into their house stealing thousands of dollars in jewelry, then allegedly poured gasoline on their pitbull's head and set him on fire.

"When he came out the house he was shaking and trembling all over. When I got up to him I realized he was dark all over and realized he'd been in a fight and his head had been burned."

Markeela Daniels/Victims:

The Baldwin County Sheriff's Department say before harming the dog, the suspects tried to break down the door. When that didn't work, they climbed in the back window.

The suspect also keyed their Ford Expedition but the Daniels' say their man concern is the eight month old dog.

"I feel real bad about it. I hope whoever did this is caught and sent to jail because no animal should be get fought or burned for any reason."

The couples dog was treated at the Gordon Animal Hospital. The veterinarian say he will be fine but Detective Bobby Langford with the Baldwin County Sheriff's Department says the suspect will be found and prosecuted.
