Picked up a new 'pack' member... Bet you guys can't guess what he is :D
Name's Freddy Krueger. No idea why, I just saw him and said "Freddy Krueger." and you can't not bring someone home after you've named them...

And here are two horrid pics of Mr Krueger.
He's a gold butterfly koi, with a bacterial infection... got him in a plastic tub that I'll be changing water out of about twice a day, and I have him on some meds. He's also underweight. If he makes it he'll end up GORGEOUS when he grows up, I have a metallic calico girl in my pond who needs a pure bred mate :D
The pictures do him NO justice, he has beautiful metallic gold flecks all over, and metallic gold fins. Once he's better I'll get some good pics, don't want to stress him right now.

I have a very soft spot for goldfish and koi... Once the weather warms, if he survives, he's going to join my crew in the pond.

Very nice!

I used to work at a greenhouse where their specialty were ponds and koi. Every year, he would go to a koi conference someplace in the United States. It was an interesting and educational place to work at. :D

He made it through the night. See if I can get him to eat today before I change his water out...

Well, Krueger is doing great... He ate some junk food (shrimp pellets) and is very active. Can't wait until it's warm out and I can play with the pond again

You need to take pictures of your pond once to gets warmer.

I will.. It looks horrible right now (water's low, leaves everywhere, rocks knowcked around, ice

). As soon as the water is warm enough that it won't freeze again I do a spring cleaning and get all of the dead plants out, fix all of the rocky areas, and I might be building a trellis over it this year to hide it from the evil heron, though it's still got a net over it.
