Lightbulb Crossing of APBT and American Bully

Hey, I'm getting more and more use to the site and browsing and searching different topics of interest. I've been coming across people dislike for the crossing between APBT and American Bullies. I understand that there are two different breeds of dog. but were APBT always APBT. Weren't/are a cross between different breed of dogs to form this amazing breed.

Truthfully, it doesn't matter to me. My first pitbull was APBT and he was AMAZING! Great, healthy, working, great temp. If the crossing come out with a healthy, working dog then why not. I have a Midnight Cowboy and RE mix. and She is an amazing dog. Originally when I got her I was uniformed of the APBT and AB crossing and a lot of the bloodlines. (Even though she is not my first "Pitbull") I was just wondering people input in regards to this

(I also have a full American Bully) which is also an amazing dog)

To me you are ruining pure lines by adding bully stuff to it. I have a pure Midnight Cowboy bitch and just imagining adding Bully to her would give me the impression of getting a watered down dog. Not what I want for working purposes at all, especially since the American Bully is the last dog I'd look to as a working dog (In most cases).

Yes, APBT were always APBTs, they came over from Europe as SBT/Bull and Terrier/Bulldog. They were bred for one purpose and improved upon until they were the APBT. Been that way for a long time now.

I dont understand why you would cross and APBT with an American Bully, what purpose would that dog have?
I also dont think it would be a "working dog", unless you were doing weight pull with it, but still it would be a mixed up mutt. Why not go out and get an American Bully or APBT that fits the need and not breed a batch of mutts?

The American Bully was created by mixing the APBT and the AST. I just dont get why you would breed more mutts, when there are already enough and there is someone somewhere who breeds a dog that will fit your need.

Bloodline she has Midnight Cowboy and RE. and Truthfully if i didn't know she had RE i would $#@!ume she is a 100% APBT. also, I wasn't the one who breed for her.

Do you have pictures of her? I was confused I thought you were going to breed the dogs for working or something, must have read it wrong.

Oh no I wasn't planning on breeding her. I was just asking about the situation. I don't have any updated pictures of her. She's a year and 3 months and i only have pictures of her at around 7 months. (A while I know. Lol) but when I get home I'll post a picture of her

All you'll get is a WORTHLESS RUINED APBT. DON'T DO IT. There's enough mutts dying in shelters without a home, don't create more.

  8. I own both American Bullies and American Pit Bull Terriers and would never dream of crossing the two. Most all American Bully owners feel that would set the American Bully breed back 10 years...Dogs used in foundation production of the American Bully are not what the final result was suppose to be, so why take a final result dog and take it back to a dog used in the production? What would this accomblish? Every breeding of any breed should be well thought out and I myself cannot think on one good reason to even think about mixing the two.....

I don't really see what the point would be. What would someone be trying to achieve by doing this. Not saying you couldn't get some nice dogs, but why? What does an AmB have to bring to the table, or vice versa.

Great points. I was just curious. Once again still gaining knowledge on both sides. But just to make it clear, I DID NOT DO THE BREEDING! Lol. I just picked up the pup, Krimson, and took her home. Lol

I think you should stop slacking and get some more recent pictures of her posted up.
