Looked like an old guy... Don't know why, but I can see deer/hogs ect taken down, but when I see something like a bear/tiger/wolf ect it hurts me. Guess it's because they're just so powerful and beautiful on top of it it's my human side flinching.

    Where's the story?

Deer and hogs are eaten, wolves are taken for sport. Bothers me too, Poisoned.

    Says here he was 230lbs...

I would run like a girl

His weight jumps around on different sites, makes me think there was no solid measuring/weighing done.

That beautiful boy. It pisses me off they killed him solely for sport.

I know. Any time we see a 'record' animal it's dead... Instead of video/pics ect. to show the world, kill the old guy...

I read that the man in the pics is 5'10"/11"... Eh, we'll probably never know just how big the old fella was.

I'm having such a moral dilemma about all this wolf hunting (Alaska & Yellowstone). On the one hand, it hurts me terribly. We've brought the wolves back from the brink of extinction, and now that they are starting to thrive, here we go slaughtering them for sport.

On the other hand, I believe in state's rights, and this is clearly a state issue.

And WHY are people hunting wolves?!? Silly and wasteful to me....

They opened up hunting wolves because the numbers are booming, and even then it's only a possibility in Idaho and Montana. It's still illegal to shoot a wolf in any other state. It's not all just about sport either. For those that enjoy the beauty of elk and deer, the wolves are a serious threat to their numbers, as well as to livestock everywhere. They don't discriminate between cows or deer, sheep or dogs. I'm not saying KILL THEM ALL just saying, to keep them in check hunting needs to occur.

Thats not my cup of tea, beautiful wolf ,shame to gotten killed. In my view if you hunt something and kill it,you beter eat it. Hunting for sports is something i will never understand. Now some folks that tested there dogo's with puma's.... But yet they convict people like Vick for instance....allthow they do exactly the same thing...just pleasure for the eye.
