    red nose pit

I hope i was right in this as I am a American bulldog owner who loves pits.

A person was selling a Pit bull here in El Paso and she has it as a Red nose pit,

I sent her a letter that said there is no such thing as a red nose pit its like saying you have a black nose beagle its just the colour of the dogs nose.

Well she gets bent and sends me a email that says there are different breeds of Pit bulls and hers is a red nose . Was I wrong ?????????

you are correct. That breeder is definably uneducated and is mos likely a selfish $#@! just trying to money from the puppies and do not care how they turn out temperament wise. This is what you call a "backyard breeder"

i dont believe that thats an Am Bulldog. but its definetely not a colby american pit bull terrier.

  13. am bulldog with somethine else...

He's structure is horrible. Deff cull.

  14. i think you guys are wrong and really being jerks about the issue if a breed has distinct charecteristics such as nose color then trhere are geneomes that make up said charecteristic, and if that thrait is desirable then describing dog as such should be acceptable wether it be red nose, purple tail, green nail, orange snail

    Huh?

People breeding for coat colar and nose color are ruining these breeds and downright destroying these dogs. It's those very people breeding specifically for such trivial issues that are pumping out dogs with horrible musculoskeletal structure, dogs with immune disoders and deficiencies, and, dogs with horrible temperaments, and at times dogs afflicted by all I just mentioned.

And there is no such bloodline as "Red Nose Pit" just as there is not such "Black Nose Pit" or "Blue Nose Pit". If you really want to get technical, there is no such breed as a "Pit" or even a "Pit Bull".

So it's not just a single warning flag that this person raised, but several. And if you've ever heard of B.S.L., well, you can thank the above-mentioned breeders for it.

  16. well i think yall are fussing over nothing :(.i have a rednose. i use it as a descreption not as in saying thats the breed. i dont know why everone get so worked up" mine is better than yours" crap . everyone has beautiful dogs. it's just what each of yall like and don't like. i love them all black ,blue, or red nose

  17. Foxxy, if you are saying red nose to describe your "pit bull"s nose color, then that is fine.

But if you are advertising the sales of your dogs are Red Nose Pits, as if it is a separate breed than the APBT, then there is a problem. I especially see a problem when someone who is breed their dog refers to it as a "pit" instead of saying the actual breed, i.e. APBT, Amstaff, etc.

  18. its one of those ignorant things that will never die

ok...so i feel really stupid right about now.... i just joined this website about 20 mins ago and in my "introduction" I had stated that i recently bought a 4 month old female red-nosed pit. I had simply $#@!umed that is what would identify her. Am I wrong for describing her in that way? She has an appointment at the vet this week (i just got her 3 days ago) so will the vet be able to tell me exactly what type of breed she is? I just thought a pitbull was a pitbull... and $#@!umed the "red nose" simply described their physical charactersitics...the breeder i got her from had told me she was a red nose pit............. am i wrong, right... or simply confused? lol. are there differnt types of pitbulls?

I get people who tell me all the time about my "mini-pit'' or "shorty pit" or "pocket pit" when they see my staffie bull. Then I tell them about his breed and a few still I'm wrong. A few more then want me to breed my dog to theirs to get more "mini-pits".
