The Pit Bull Placebo: The Media, Myths and Politics of Canine Aggression by Karen Delise

This is a well put together book, that I would strongly suggest for anyone in an area, especially politicians in an area where BSL is being considered or exists. This describes the difference between now and 100 years ago, throughout the years as to how the newspapers portray dog attacks. It takes a common sense approach as to how stupid some people can be, and goes over with some of the myths and stupid things politicians, media and other rumors have said about breeds of dogs over the years. I wish there was a way to give this book and "Fatal Dog Attacks" by the same author (which I have also read) to every politician out there.

Excellent book. The research in this book and "Fatal Dog Attacks" is helpful to anyone attempting to understand and/or defend the breed. Ignorance of pitbulls is the primary cause of current BSL legislation.
