Talking Gage needs a home and love!

    Name
    Gage
    Sex
    Male
    Color
    Blue Fawn
    Age
    Puppy (<1 Year)
    Weight
    46.8lb
Gage is a sweet boy who wandered up on the beach. He was covered in fleas and dirt. He was so dirty that we thought he was a brown brindle. When we got him home and gave him a bath he turned out to be blue fawn with yellow eyes.

He's a little underweight (you can see his hips) and his fur is dry and patchy but that is from living outside on the beach in 100 degree weather. With a little care and a lot of love he'll be a gorgeous and wonderful family pet.

Gage is friendly towards dogs, puppies, cats and people. He has NO toy or food aggression either. He's very sweet and is just happy to be loved and is looking for his forever home. Gage has been rabies vaccinated, tested negative for heartworms and is currently being treated for whip worms but they will be gone soon.

PLease help Gage find his forever home! He's a sweet boy who deserves a second chance at happiness!

I'm still trying to figure out how to put pictures on here. When I figure it out i'll get some up.

I would be very excited to give him a new home, I am In New Orleans.. Where is your organization located?
I have been actively searching for a friend for my Boxer, Marley. He lost his companion and our dear beautiful pit mix Blackie in March and I would really like to have these guys meet and see how they get along. Please feel free to call me at 504-261-3415 with any information that you would like to pass on. My name is Mike.

I really hope this guy finds a great home... and just a side note, this breed loves to be with humans, and isn't always good with other dogs. Not to say that they can't be, but sometimes, some dogs will not take to other dogs as well..... just wanted to add that.

Very true Molliesnana! under NO circumstances should gage be left alone with another dog without supervision until you fully know his personality. We can only do so much socialization testing so from our testing (8 different dogs and 4 different breeds) he is good with dogs. We have only have him for 1 week so take that into acount though.

Mike - Is your male boxer nuetered? Gage has been great with males as long as they are nuetered. He went to a home last week to see how he did with the 2 Labs that lived there too. He did great with the female but when he met Jake, the male, Jake went after Gage and Gage defended himself. Noone was hurt and they didn't actually make contact but they would have if it hadn't been for the barrier. Let me clarify, Gage DID NOT start it and was only defending himself. He is wonderful with my male who is quite a bit larger than him, but Hemi is nuetered. If your male is nuetered then we can let them meet but just to be safe we cannot home Gage with an unaltered male.

Bulli mom I have a 40 female puppy pit that could use a playmate. I have another female puppy who is not capable of keeping up with her any more as she lost her leg . I am in central Mississippi.

Sorry I haven't updated on Gauge in a little while. He is doing GREAT! He's put on a little more weight and his coat is starting to produce oils again so his skin isn't as flaky as it was when we got him. The hair on his neck is growing in beautifully and he's just getting sweeter by the day! he is now living with a new foster family while looking for his forever home. He's having a blast playing with Roxi (8 months), another rescue pit, and Nina (3 years) a rescue pit mix. Tabby, the resident kitty cat is tolerating him but because he likes kitties she starting to come around. I'm going to go check on him this week and take some pics.

PS -noticed that the pics didn't load on here. Can someone help me please?

Mike - I've got your number but I just had mouth surgery so i'm not able to talk too much right now. Had a allergic reaction to the pain meds so it's gonna be a couple days still before I can call you. I'm sorry it's taking so long!

Xguard - i'm sorry that things didn't work out. Too bad i'm sure gage would have been happy there with you. If things change on your end please let me know.

Gauge is still looking for a home and is still as sweet as ever. We still haven't had any aggression issues. He's just a really sweet, gentle boy who wants a forever home. Please let me know if you're interested.

  8. Re: Gage needs a home and love!

How well would he do with a male puppy? We have a 7 week old male puppy. We also have a 7 week old female puppy and a 1 and half year old female, all are pitbulls.

  9. Re: Gage needs a home and love!

He is amazing with puupies! He's so gentle! You probably couldn't ask for a better dog. Here are some pics of Gauge. Unfortunately Gauge is running out of time. THe home that is fostering him can't keep him much longer and we're having trouble finding another house to foster him. I really don't want to take him to a shelter. I'm looking for another rescue to take him.
